Why dont you just use the search feature here and search your threads title? There is already a million threads like this here.
The question was "How to promote a new website" and you gave a list of topics. However, each of these topics are completely worthless without further explanantion. Like: How do you promote a new website? Answer: SEO Someone that doesn't know how to promote a new website surely won't understand how to implement any of the answers listed above.
There are always a lot of ways, but you need to get your hands dirty and figure out what will work for your particular business. You could promote a website by tossing a Frisbee with your URL on it out the window, but that probably won't get you to results you're looking for. Be specific about about your situation and what you want to accomplish, and we can give you specific advice on how you can successfully promote your website.
I'm pretty sure most the members knew these information. It would have been awesome if you had included further details on how each of the element can be used effectively to promote new websites.
There are so many methods in SEO, there are so many social networks and there is little chance to accomplish anything if you don't thoroughly investigate what would actually work for you and your particular business. For example, I have two clients. For one of them, I promote his business through email marketing, classifieds and Facebook, for the other one - Facebook and Instagram. It all depends on your niche and on your target group. You should do a research and find out their age, sex, habits, occupation, etc. This is how you will know where to advertise, how and when. You may spend a lot of time in the beginning figuring things out, but this will pay off. Do things the right way and get specific.
It's not just the list that's important - it's how you combine those marketing tactics into a seamless campaign. The whole has to be more than a simple sum of parts.
Why so general? I get it that these are all good methods but why so general? the whole idea is solve specific issues and what you are suggesting here is too general. Each of these is a book by itself. Be more specific to the website you are talking about, for example Youtube is good for one and not for another. It is not just about back links or getting traffic but the juice and the quality of the traffic
What Alex said. The bit about getting your hands dirty. I think a lot of these kinds of questions are looking for workarounds, some way to do it quick and easy at minimal cost. Doesn't really work IMO. Getting your hands dirty is all about investing time or money. If you have the money PPC, solo ads etc can work well. Content marketing (via multiple channels including Facebook, YouTube etc) and social networking are where you can promote your site and build some presence for yourself and your brand. You can offer value to prospective customers by offering useful stuff no strings attached. Even if it's just a cheap and nasty site that you have no real intent to take too far, you want your site and your content to have some value to whoever sees it. Sure you can combine all those methods but if I have the choice of spending time SEOing or creating quality content I will go with content creation everyday. Press releases work fine but look at the intent behind them. Generally they don't offer much in the way of value and are more publicity pieces. Having your site/you be seen as a source of valuable information and answers to their problems IMO will work better as promotional tools for your website than anything else. Have fun S.
You can promote your website through Facebook or Twitter and by sharing with people in chatrooms like on IRC servers,Create some cool videos and upload them on youtube and post link on blogs and forums, there are freelancers on websites like SEOclerks who offer to promote websites for small fee, this is simple way to promote I think.
There are a lot of traffic generation methods that you can choose from. The question is, how to choose the right traffic source based on your target audience characteristics and demographics?
You can promote your website through traffic i.e. more and more people can see your website. Traffic comes from various ways like social traffic, SEO traffic, paid traffic etc.
