I know with eBay you are supposed to list it so your auction ends on a weekday evening, but what about Digg? I think I remember someone saying that to get on the front page during weekdays is different than weekends. Also could the time you submit your article matter?
true to an absolutely insane degree. I'd look at your hourly traffic on your website and submit it at a time when those sorts of users are most likely to be online.
How about when you have something "interesting"? Just kidding... That hourly traffic stats thing might be a very good idea. Bye
I've been thinking about this myself a lot. I'm in the UK so I tend to favour submitting late at night here so that the American crowd have a better chance of picking up on it
I have a question related to this... if I may. My site is an article based site in which the articles are fed in and written by others. I have written a number of articles myself, but to say the site will be all my articles is untrue. I was using Joomla for sometime and recently switched to WP... in the switch I lost all the articles (don't ask... lol). The site will have more than just articles in the future, (pics, newsletters etc) but for now that's mainly all that's there. Does it make much of a difference to digg, or any other submission site for that matter, whether or not the articles are mine or is the "update" the important point?
I've read the best time to sumbit is around 9PST. When west coasters are getting to work and when East coasters are settled at work or on their lunch break.
Could someone tell me more about Digg? Will it help to market my GMAT Preparation website www.scorechase.com
I think it depends. For the evening and weekends, its easier to get on the frontpage, but getting on the frontpage will give you fewer visits. Getting on the front page during the day is harder, but you'll be rewarded with more visits.
I finally found the link I was looking for: http://www.linkbuildingblog.com/2006/11/neil_patel_on_t.html
No, threads like "Digg me and I'll Digg you" are why DP is banned... if they are banned. I don't think DP is banned, I just remember a bunch of people (including me I think) got banned.
If you have your own server, do it right when you get up. Do it right before you go to bed and if it goes down, who's going to reboot apache or the server to get it back up!!!! I had to reboot apache once when I hit the index page.
I have GoDaddy hosting (250GB bandwidth per month) but I just started the site so it only has a couple MB bandwidth used so far. Will that be ok if I make the front page? I'm assuming that just because it says 250GB per month doesn't mean that it won't crash if I get tons of traffic at once...
