For as long as I can remember (and I'm 51), every time after someone in a movie brushes their teeth, they simply spit out the toothpaste without rinsing their mouth. Is that just the American way of brushing teeth or is that how most people do it? Or is that just in movies? I've never done that. I always rinse with water several times. What do you guys do? Just curious.
Cannot imagine not rinsing with water after brushing. I think that in the movies, it is artistic license as the act of spitting may be perceived as unworthy of the character or something like that. Similarly, I heard that a lot of women were in an uproar over one of the female characters in the latest Jurassic Park movie who wore high heels in the park! Image is everything in the movies.
Cool little fact here; It is actually better not to rinse after brushing your teeth. Rinsing washes away the protective fluoride coating left by the toothpaste, which would otherwise add hours of protection.
For me it's more like especially after using mouthwash because some of them burn like crazy! Interesting. I've never considered that.
