I hope that everyone has a nice Memorial Day and does something to help a veteran in recognition of their sacrifice.
My family went to the beach. The rip current was bad though. But the weather otherwise was P-E-R-F-E-C-T! Me and my youngest trying to catch some baby fish:
It was a nice day up here, too. Got the grill and the deck furniture set up for the summer. Still cannot open the pool because surrounding trees have not yet dropped their seedlings. I also did some work on my website that helps veterans.
A couple of years ago, I started joblesswarrior.org to provide free career coaching and resume writing for veterans. I use professional career coaches and resume writers who are willing to donate their time to help veterans get the careers that they deserve. We have helped a few thousand veterans, to date, but it is a drop in the bucket versus the great need out there. Recently, I also got involved running the marketing and sales for the Veterans Employment Alliance Center (veactr.org) whose founder is a former Vietnam veteran who came home to run a multinational corporation with tens of thousands of employees only to lose it all and become homeless living on the streets. While homeless, he developed a career training program for homeless and unemployed veterans and created a nonprofit to provide such training for free to veterans. He was recently honored by the governor of Wisconsin for his efforts and successes. I am helping to line up sponsors for the intensive training that has helped thousands of veterans and has a 94% hiring success rate. I am not a veteran, myself, (Nixon ended the draft when I turned 18) but am grateful to all who serve or have served.
