The section "Popular Threads Right Now" on the homepage (right sidebar). I usually see a 2012 and older thread. It is really useless to bump an old thread because some information there sometimes are not helpful today. I think it should be changed to something like: Thread that last post are 1 year from now, shouldn't be showing there. Or just show "New posts" or "New threads".
If people want to see new posts/threads there is already an option for that in the header. The "Popular Threads Right Now" are exactly that... threads that have the most people reading them right that second (has nothing to do with when the thread was created).
But those threads are quite old. They may not be of much help now. Its 'Popular Threads "RIGHT NOW"' So some new threads with high readings should be displayed there. Like the threads with the most people reading them this week or month. The threads currently trending here should be displayed there, not the ones which were once trending. We want to live in the present, not in the past
It has nothing to do with current or historical views or trends. It literally is "right now". If people are reading old threads right now, they might be the most read thread right now. If 100 people are reading an old thread right now vs. 0 people reading a new thread, why would that new thread be considered a popular thread right now?
Got it. I didn't know about that. I thought only the threads which have the most views are displayed there, not the ones which are being viewed currently.
I agreed with that. But some old threads has no more valuable information. I mean some threads are from 2010 or older, it doesn't apply anymore today. I saw some people complain about people bumping old threads. I think this is one of the reason, because sometimes I didn't realize it's an old thread, I still reply to it.
