As you may have heard, "Mobilegeddon" is here. It's Google's latest major update to their search algorithm. It is major because it affects pretty much all websites in the world. This is a new factor that gives a "boost" or preference to sites that are mobile-friendly / Responsive. With that said, here's a couple of questions for you: Is your site mobile-friendly? If you site is mobile-friendly, have you see any changes to your traffic recently? Google test tool: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/
What a load of nonsense. There has hardly been any noticeable changes in the mobile SERPS ... not remotely close to being "major"!
You need to read a little more clearly. I never said every site would see major changes. I simply said, it is a major update because it affects pretty much all websites in the world. Come on man, don't come on here trying to troll. You probably don't even have a website to your name.
I haven't seen any changes for my sites. The update has not been fully rolled out yet; at-least on most DCs.
I checked my sites with this link a couple weeks back. Anyone who hasn't checked mobile friendliness should.
You should also take a look at Google's Page Speed Insights Tool: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ If you need a page that gets 100 points on all 3 sections, take a look at our best example: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.geekweb.com%2Fen-us%2F
You need to get used to the "agent", every forum will always have this one member who do a lot of that, just ignore him. Back to the topic, it's been almost a week now since the update rolled out, and looking at my site traffic I don't really see any changes at all. I was actually expecting, since my site isn't mobile friendly. Though on the other hand I am happy that no negative impact on my site.
Yeah, I'm on the same boat as you. Got one site that isn't mobile-friendly yet, but gladly, no major change in traffic.
Just to clarify, this update only affects search results on smart phones, which represents about 50% of all searches. It does not affect desktop or tablet search results.
Update: three weeks after the algorithm update, I'm not seeing any significant drop in mobile traffic.
Mobilegeddon could mean a drop in traffic for these websites that don’t meet Google’s standards for being smartphone friendly. Google
Update: Now Bing has announced that they will be releasing their own mobile-friendly algorithm. The plot thickens!
My site is mobile friendly. I haven't seen any quick improvement in traffic but over the past month - i have seen gradual and steady increase in traffic. Most of my traffic comes from cell phones, as high as 70%+ ... and I see almost 15%+ rise in traffic in the last month alone. also, we did implement https during this period, so can't say if the rise in traffic is due to the secure protocol or responsiveness. thanks, Uttoran Sen,
No, my website is not mobile-friendly. But I'm always aware of any Google new updates and I also inform you that I know about the "Mobilegeddon".
