Hey, I've got a couple domains lying around and I'm wondering which you guys think would be best for a file hosting website. Won't be a regular file hosting site but more of a community oriented one. sharefileuploads.com upfiling.com toadfile.com cling.ca Any thoughts?
I reckon cling.ca. ____file.com has been done a lot. Sharefileuploads.com is a little too obvious, upfiling.com looks a little strange too me aesthetically (could be the many tall skinny i/l/f type characters in a row). You could create a brand image out of cling.ca, it's the one in the list that gets around my lips easiest anyway.
I usually get requested where you should acquire all of them, along with I personally use along with suggest the two GoDaddy. com along with BlueHost. com. They’re competitively costed, get great customer satisfaction, along with enable you to do almost everything you may want want to do to manage your site on the internet. Your own mileage can vary greatly, even so, seeing that simply no hosting company is ideal.
I personally like upfiling.com although I agree with it being easier to build a brand around cling.ca. Either way good luck with the site!
cling.ca.... Makes no sense... not a .com... has nothing to do with file uploads.... but I agree it is brandable and sounds cool
Cling is to cling onto things and you don't need a brand to make sense just rememberable. And you don't want a .com for a file hosting website because it's under the USA and you'll probably end up like Kim Dotcom if anyone uploads anything illegal. Canada is known for not following DMCA rules.
DMCA risks are mainly related to hosting, not to domain registration. .com is always better because it is .com.
So you've not seen FBI take down notices on .com domains before? They need to file a complaint with a domain registrar, the .com is on USA soil, .ca is on Canada's soil they don't have to abide with it, just like they allow weed but USA doesn't minus a few states.
