Your job will be to go over the current blog posts in my sites and proofread them. You most have really good English language knowledge.
Sir, I have been working as an Editor for the last 10 years. If given an opportunity, I can make sure of bringing you a big smile of satisfaction with the job well done. Regards, Eddy
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see any reason as to why you wouldn't want to hire the poster for editing any English content. As he mentioned, he has an experience of 10 years working as an editor, which is certainly a big plus. As for the syntax of the post, AT LEAST I'm not able to see anything wrong with it (and wouldn't really expect an editor with such a vast experience to commit any mistakes). Please enlighten me. Thanks. EDIT: Just wondering if it's got anything to do with the way in which that proposal has been written – I mean whether you don't find the choice of words to be correct. o.o?
Yes, I'm indeed. I'm really not able to find out why you don't wanna hire the poster for editing. I'm most certainly missing something and that's why would like to know what it is. EDIT: I DON'T mean to challenge you, but I'm really curious. So can you please point out what's wrong?
Content Maestro, the fact is that his post is in serious need of editing. "Sir, I have been working as an Editor for the last 10 years. If given an opportunity, I can make sure of bringing you a big smile of satisfaction with the job well done. Regards, Eddy" "Editor" should not be capitalized since it is being used as a concrete noun. When it is used in this context, it should be "editor". "I can make sure of bringing" simply doesn't make sense. "I will be sure to bring you" would make much more grammatical sense. "A big smile of satisfaction" is a saying which I have never heard before and certainly isn't native English speech. In fact, that whole second sentence is just wrong on so many levels. I only pointed it out since if the OP isn't a native speaker, it may be difficult for him to tell. Also, you can normally spot non-natives quite easily since they start everything off with "Sir", even if it's clearly obvious that it's a female.
Thanks @pianogirl for pointing all that out. Dunno how I missed it though. I'm finding it rather hard to believe that a person with an experience of 10 years can commit such mistakes. NO OFFENSE intended at ANYONE.
I hate to be cynical, but it's either: a) He's lying about the experience b) He's been doing a crappy job for 10 years c) He's been editing in another language
Dear poor piano girl....plz have a look at the subject before you post anything...the post was "Content editor" wanted and it can be seen that you have just poke your nose to a wrong one. Its my humble request to mind your own business. The owner of the post is more experienced than you. You do not have to include your opinions. I have also got lots of complaints about ruining other clients with your poor work (hence poor piano girl.) I don't wish to reveal your past work where you have......leave it...just don't poke your nose everywhere.
Eddy, I have never done any work for you in my life. I demand that you either send me a private message telling me what you are talking about or take back your statement immediately, since I don't believe you are telling the truth.
@Piano girl r u sure that you have not worked for my client? Should I ask them to make their remark about you here? You have already received a lot of infraction for damaging other posts.. PLEASE READ THE RULES OR BE BANNED!! I am saying you again do not try to poke your nose into others and mind your own poor business.
Eddy, if you have accusations to make, please PM me with them. You have still not told me who your client is. I have only ever done honest work for people both on DP and other forums/platforms, so I have nothing to hide if your client wants to come along and tell the truth about anything. I merely stated that you are not a native English writer, and therefore, you are not qualified to proofread and edit English content. I meant no offence and I am sorry that you took it that way.
Wow, glad I didn't miss this thread, nothing like some good ol' drama to spice up my Thursday As an absolutely objective bystander (don't know either of you) I'd have to say that you Eddy are acting like a teenager. It actually fits well with your nickname and style of writing. Someone gave а fair and well-argumented opinion which was in no way meant to offend you and you jumped on the bandwagon and took it very personal. As you cannot take your words back now it is a public dispute and its best if you can prove your accusations. Slander will take you nowhere, nor will an attitude like that.
You're welcome. I'm just saying, you can't really tell much from that once sentence and what's proper grammar to one person isn't to another. What isn't proper grammar by proper grammar standards is proper grammar to the Writer. I capitalized writer there because I wanted to put more emphasis on the word by doing so. Was it proper grammar to do that? Probably not. But did it bring more emphasis to the word? Probably so.
I understand your point, Mkcoy, but I'm pretty sure you could tell A LOT from those two sentences. You can tell from a few words whether somebody is native English or not (or has writing skills up to the standard of a native English writer).
