What can we do to change this work routine to 9hr x 5 days a week. Any idea to request for this change to management.
I agree with @etc you can request that you'll work for 11 hours a day. If you dont want this set up simply because this can be toxic. You can ask your co-worker to take your 6th day shift, I do believe there will always be someone who's willing to cover your shift.
Be very careful how you approach the management on this issue... 1- Make sure you make the management aware that any changes must give the same output and sales revenue, or better still the changes will be likely to increase efficiency and profit 2- Always base any changes on giving the paymasters what they want MORE PROFIT!
but they won't even allow us to work for 11hr x 5 days. If we work for 11hr continuously they won't get that much output. Work efficiency is a factor in this.
I work shift, that means i work 12 hours a day and every forth week we have that whole week of work while another team takes over and works that week. It's quite nice actully
12 hours a day, 7 days a week? Straight work for three weeks and then off for the 4th week? Isn't that more hazardous to your health?
Totally agree with you .. I was working for 12 hours per day for 6 days a week week after week, month after month .. i lost my feeling about life Imagine this, working 12 hours and sleeping 6 hours so you've only 6 hours remening for your family for reading for watching tv for eating ..etc. And suddenly i hit to my boss office and told him loudly "F*** U"! he said "WHAAAAAAAAT"! i said "F*** U Badly, Boss" he said "are you crazy?" I said "no i just telling you the truth and this is a fact, every single one working in this office want to say to you F*** U F*** U badly" he said "somebody call the security ... somebody call the security" I think we should works only 6 hours per day.
i have been doing this for 4 years. I work as an IT tech and it's going fine. Mostly fixing computers and nothing stressfull at all
I surely would love a whole week off, however I certainly would not drag myself working for 3 straight weeks 12 hours a day. Ah ah. just NO! I mean that is just toxic! Good to hear it's working for you though
Many companies have adapted flextime or flexible time for their organization. Generally the idea is to allow employees to work more productively and spend more time with the family by shortening the days of their work but they will have to spend longer hours instead. If your company adapts this policy then you can work out the schedule with your HR.
In my opinion 8 hours a day and 5 days in a week is the best routine. You can talk to your management or you can look for a new job which match your time schedule.
