What is the most expensive sport?

HMM thats a tough one maybe football because of how big the teams an practice squads are and how the players union is fighting for more $$$ for the retired players!!

 

I think, F1 racing is the most expensive one! it might not look a sport but it is a sport.

 

I personally believe that rugby league is one of the most expensive sports. To train and play is cheap that is true... but then there are the injuries you incur whilst in the game! These injuries cost you time money and a future if you are not careful. Then there is the opportunity cost for playing rugby and for not playing in other areas or sports like Golf and that...

Dude! yes I am kinda sure that it is a sport though I'm not very certain that it is the very expensive one. Well, in terms of accidents and stuff like that, this sport has major ones too. haha

 

For me it is between skiing and golf, but I would give the nod to skiing because of the rise in tickets. To skii only one day it costs over $120 at most places, so it forces you to get a season pass if you are going to skii multiple days to make a proper investment. That means you will be spending in some cases upwards to $600 to skii during a season, just on access to the mountain.

 

Sorry, I am not into golf because I honestly find it boring.
So I'm wondering, what makes it expensive???

 

Golf and Car racing!
I've never experienced those sports but I think it cost you a lot of money to get involved.

Polo! So expensive, I don't play but I watch, man you have to be rich to play that sport. Horse maintenance is expensive!

I agree that F1 is a sport and is very expensive. There are a lot of engineers, mechanics, and drivers that need to get paid. The maintenance of the race car is also very expensive. The engine lasts for 1 race only. They have to rebuild it every race. Plus the top driver is paid a lot.

 

AMEN to that! maybe Bobsledding is one hecka expensive as well.

 

Growing up in Canada I think hockey is one of the most expensive sports. Just based on the equipment needed to play, plus the maintenance of the ice rink must be expensive. I love basketball and soccer though, just because all you need is the ball and a basket or field respectilely. Love ice scating though.

@Jmor Have you seen cool runnings? It's my favorite movie, they didn't need much money and they competed in the Olympics.

@jonrod You should combine the two sports, and do golf cart racing. There was this movie called Houseguest in the 90's that reminds me of that.

@Patricia Ann Lee I hate golf! It should be really cheap for how boring a sport it is. I love playing Frisbee golf so much better.

 

All I know is to golf on their field costs in the hundreds, plus the golf clubs which cost in the thousands. But if you love it it would probably be doable for most people.

 

Yes. Racing must be the most expensive sports. Using cars or motorcycles of coarse, not running to race....
