I'm at work right now, and I'm thinking "wow, I eat the same stuff almost every other day. I need something new!" So what's the best sandwich that you've ever had? Made or purchased?
Without a doubt a good philly steak sandwich. There is this one place at Columbus int. airport in OH, that I would check out every time I traveled. One time I seriously considered just going there to try the sandwich. What not to love? PS the image is generic, but it looks exactly like the one I had at the airport.
My friend and I once made a sandwich at home. We took half a dozen eggs, added some butter and milk, loads of spices, and scrambled them. Shredded some cheese slices over it and let it melt. Took two slices of bread and spread mayo, and put the eggs in between.
Where do I begin? I LOVE sandwiches of all shapes, ingredients and sizes. @qwikad.com 's Philly cheesesteak is a leading contender for me, as well. But I also would consider a Reuben sandwich: If a warm sandwich is not practical, then I would suggest a nice chickensalad sub: This thread is making me hungry!
Some interesting options. Atleast now I can try and get some diversity in my lunches. I've not had a Philly steak sandwich in ages, so I think that will be my first choice! qwikad.com I wish I could like your option on the forum. *likes it*.
OP, take a look at some of the mouth-watering sandwiches here - http://www.shortlist.com/cool-stuff/the-worlds-10-best-sandwiches http://www.shortlist.com/shortlists/the-worlds-10-craziest-sandwiches http://www.seriouseats.com/2015/01/types-of-mexican-sandwiches-what-is-torta-pambazo-cemita.html. Heck! Wish I had the Pambazo and Torta Cubana right now …. Pambazo: Torta Cubana:
@Content Maestro the Cuban sandwich (your last picture) was one of the ones that I considered, too. Really good one!
You know, I don't eat bread, either, when I am doing the Atkins low-carb diet (it's my favorite diet, if there can be such a thing) and I miss it terribly when I don't have it. A big part of the sandwich, for me, is the bread. If the ratio of meat to bread is too high, in fact, I will like the sandwich less. I like avocado, so I would definitely like your sandwich, too. (Though I might slip a slice of turkey and a slice of cheese into it, as well.)
oh noooo I forgot the cheese. Of course, cheese is a must. I'll take swiss or cheddar. I wonder if you can make a sandwich without bread?
No you cannot make a sandwich without bread that's what a sandwich is. You need lush tasty bread as well ask filling herby tomato roll filled with crunchy lettuce, cucumber, peppers, tomatoes, home baked ham a slice of extra mature cheddar a splash of onion chutney mmmmm lush ☺
