Profile backlinks for SEO. Are these even worth it anymore?

I've been hearing mixed opinions about this topic. Do profile backlinks from websites such as forums, or directories matter in terms of LB and site ranking?

Its Depend upon level of quality that created from profile and yeah the automated softwares that creates backlinks will help you for ranking but that would not be longer..

 

Backlinks from related websites matters most compared to not related sites that would be considered as one way of manipulating the rankings.

Automated software that generates tons of links will not help and it will only ruin your website's reputation on the search engine as well as for your targeted audience.

 

For example,

If I had a website for dogs, and I go out and find forums, directories, and blogs all related to dogs, will those forum profile links and directories be helpful?

 

It might be not helpful for SEO purposes nowadays, but still it is important to get traffic to your website.

 

My approach? They're not likely to hurt, and they might help. So why not take the few minutes to set them up?

 

My opinion and Experience for profile backlink and link building–

1) It always good thing if it’s WHITE HAT and related to your industry.

2) Avoid too many backlinks (at least in short period)

3) Always get backlinks from niche specific sites and be sure about quality like Page Authority, Domain Authority & Page Rank etc.

4) Try to avoid automated software especially for backlinks

5) I prefer to use tools for Social Media marketing, ranking checker, ranking position, traffic updates, SEO suggestion etc. but never use for link building.

6) Content is KING So, always use content for marketing as well as update to sites.

It’s definitely useful in terms of Traffic. Ultimate goal behind SEO is TRAFFIC.

 

Couldnt say for sure, but in general - if you have created forum profiles for the purposes of creating links to your site then you would probably be best to try and undo that work...

 

Correct. But It would be always beneficial if you create on useful sites like Quora, Tumblr, Squidoo, YellowPages similar sites. It will definitely help for BRANDING. It has to be update regular as well.

 

Profile links don't work, directory links very few work and most of the ones that work are paid. I would not use software unless you are a professional and not for submission but for IP use only. It is not the number of backlinks it is the quality.

 

Just creating profiles might not help much - but active participation after creating profiles help!

 

I'm not talking about software to generate these links. Links are created manually from relevant and related websites. Everything is whitehat 100%

 

No and no. It doesn't matter if you mean spam or not. It's considered spam these days (if you have more than a few) forum profile links. Why? Because every spamming tool that exists these days were created for forum profile links. It's simply a bad strategy that's gonna cost you rankings one day. Why build your house on sand?

 

Now a days it might be not helpful for SEO, but still it is very important to get traffic to your website.

 

Not sure how much traffic a forum with several hundred thousand members can help you. Especially if you ONLY create a profile and place your backlink inside...
Forums will help you get traffic if you often take part in the discussions and of course if it's related to your niche.
Don't forget NOT to spam!

 

Id say its a good thing to be involved in a community giving active advice and help! This can lead to getting business. The links might give a little boost too!

 

If you are thinking about backlinks every time you are creating a profile in forum then it would certainly would not come out great for your site. Rather you should actively participate in those sites and help other forum members. In this way, you will earn a reputation and brand value.

 

Links from same niche forums and directories does matter because Google Webmaster tools shows link details for both forums and directories if you generated links from these sites.
