I collected it regarding health, supplements & fitness projects I Haven't start marketing to them, i dont plan too, I dont want to use them for SOLOADS I know they are active & verified, yet, consider as cold emails so..can i sell'em?
I guess you CAN tecnically sell them maybe your country has laws against this but even so you CAN, but should you?
I suppose there is no problem if you sell them to an individual and you don't use them any longer. Some websites, on the subscription form, have a clausule that states they are allowed to share and/or sell the user details to third parties. Althought I guess people signed in to receive mails from 1 particular site so they might consider themselves victims of spam when another site is suddenly sending them massive mails... But what happens next is not really your responsability ... But I really doubt you can put them for (paid) download to the big public...
Personally, if I am you, I won't sell them. I will probably get money out of them by marketing to them. The issue: Did you get the emails legally? Did the terms of the site where those emails originate allow them to share to third party? If you did collect those emails, how did you collect them? Is it through a subscription to a newsletter/mailing lists? Is it from a forum membership? Do you own the site that collected the emails? Are the policies clear that you can share them to other parties? This is usually stated in privacy policy of every website. As long as people consent that their emails may be shared to a third party then you can sell it. But, how certain are you that they really consent it? Do you have the record/proof? If you are not sure whether there was an expressed permission to share their emails to a third party, then don't sell them. You can probably contact them and tell them that you are writing because they have expressed interest in subscribing to a particular newsletter that you run and then ask them politely to reply back to you if they wish to be contacted by a third party who may give them offers. Now, if you have a verified email list whose owners have expressed interest in receiving offers from a third party, then you can sell that list. I may likewise be interested in this type of list. God bless.
The question (and reason why I said might) is : Are email lists by definition bound to 1 particular website? Do people remember the sites they've subscribed to? I don't think so. what if you collect all mails and newsletter them from '' That seems to be more and more common these days... You could (not saying you should) sell that list and the "from" mail address without anyone knowing it switched owner and without selling the website itself. Bottom line is that you are putting your reputation at risk by selling the list as you have no idea what the buyer will do with it... if he uses it correctly nothing might happen but if he would spam them with illegal content chances are high that people do investigate, assiosiate it to your site (or you as a person) & start spreading the word... not something i would like to happen... That is what everyone says publicly but we all know that some big firms do not hesitate to enter "grey zones" when the gain > pain . Which in this case isn't the case ... 01111001 01101111 01110101 00100111 01110010 01100101 00100000 01110010 01101001 01100111 01101000 01110100 00101100 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 00100000 01100001 01110010 01100101 00100000 01100001 00100000 01100111 01100101 01100101 01101011 00100000 00111010 00101001
As mentioned above, yes, you can sell them. Your best best is to keep and market other health related products to them. That's a lot of subscribers and you should definitely be able to make sales from that list. Plus, this is the time of year where literally everyone's resolution is to lose weight. Market weight loss products and make some money.
I have a non-profit client who sends out a newsletter monthly. The recipients pay hundreds of dollars to be members and yet I get emails asking why we're sending them, accusing us of spam and generally being hostile. So, you're right, people don't remember. But equally, even if they've signed up they'll still hit the spam button if you fail to provide value.
Um, It's interesting because those people trusted you with private information and you selling it. I mean if those emails mean nothing, sell them, but if you want to do the right thing, don't sell them.
You already received advice from the moral police in this thread so I won't go there. Let's discuss the value of your dinky 4,000 email list. It's worth anywhere from $.01 up to $10 if you can find some sucker to spend that. And once you sell it once you killed the "value" of the list. 4,000 emails is nothing. The closing rate on email marketing is far too minimal these days when it comes to SPAMMING. This isn't 1997 when someone on AOL would receive a penis enlargement promotion and say "well I'll be darn....ain't this something special". Most opt-in email receipients don't even read the RELEVANT content if the email is lucky enough to even make it to their inbox. Can you imagine how few would actually click on a link in the email THEN buy something on the web site? The list is worthless.
My website was set up to market and sell databases but with 250,000 email contacts it is a bit wider range of opportunities. Most of these opportunities I have not even begun to explore or understand as I am not a whiz at this. But as one of the replies indicated your list of 4,000 has little value.
Yes, you have a lot more opportunities with a list of this magnitude. Are you sending regularly to this list at present or is it amassed over a long time grame?
You could sell them.... but.... You could easily send them Tips on different things in the health niche and then market some Information or amazon products to them. You can also charge people to send their link out to your list. Heck, you could make a small heath niche product and sell that to them.
I send out emails on behalf of clients - usually a HTML template that I create for them. I charge a fee for this service based on the value of the list and amount of emails sent. You can see my website in the profile page. I control who I send the emails to in order to avoid them getting overwhelmed. The prices vary as you can see on my site and premium lists never get discounted.... All the names are active (95%).
