Just interested to know, .US domain names are still popular? Would you choose a .US domain for your business, if other extensions (.com, .net, .org) were taken? Johnny
As far as investing in .us names, the cctld never really took off. As far as development is concerned, I see no issue aside from it is geo targeted in the searches....to what extent I couldn't tell you. And if your business (products/services) will largely be based in the US. I never really understood why I see so many online design companies using geo-cctlds, when they're service can be used world-wide (aside from the name not being available in the above). My thought process, is whatever looks most professional. I really don't like .net's (imitation .com's), does the name work w/ a .org? Most of the time, it likely wouldn't really work w/ a .org.
As I figured out in the past days, .US is not popular even in the United States. Americans prefer use .com for their bussiness and the .us extension is worthless for domainers. Thank you all for your ideas.
Sure it still popular and strong, i have a .US domain with 64 PA and 58 DA and i would like to sell it soon
TLDs are all the same. They're all valuable. You're the one who makes them popular. A popular domain is the one with higher rankings and authority. Depends on how well you do with your domain. I just recently got one.
dot us, loosing his popularity, since they give some warning to a webmaster, that only US citizen or need legal paper! just like UK domain! just to be honest, only dot CN or DOt In, that can do that! other CCtld can't or have no right to give restriction! otherwise market will punish that CCtld i.e losing his value just my $2
They're not bad if the .com is taken and you'll focus on the US market only. .us never really took off but you can use that to your advantage, there are plenty good handregs to find.
