We all want quick traffic but why choose a quick way that will just have a spurr of traffic for 2 hours when you can invest some of your time into a way that will build up lots of traffic in the long run and won't just be a spurr. Topsites work fine and best of all there free.

Quick traffic. Get the $20 plan from proxy.org

Also add your proxies to all the proxy lists.

Yea, the $20 from Proxy.org is not bad. Though most proxy webmasters find most traffic coming from type ins and Google. This is why you should get a good domain name.

Easy to remember and catchy. Who would have though ProxyVan would be a good name :)

The problem with proxy.org is that, they send traffic directly to the proxified pages, and not the main pages that contains adsense.

That will really depends on your service, think about this way, if someone from proxy.org go to your proxified page and feel like your server are good to use, they will then look at your domain and try to remember it, and next time when they need to use the same serivce, they will just type your domain and come back and they will see your ads, from what i feel when you said this is you expect people come to your site and click on adsense then leave, then people will never come back, i rather people use my proxy service everyday and some day they click on the ads when they see something they want...just my 2 cents...correct me if i'm wrong :p

This means you only depend on returning visitors? right?

I rather be yes, think about it, why there are flood of proxy site is because people needing to use it(and can make some money for some people), so if someone got block from work/school, they are going to use web proxy everyday, and the most is they are going to find the proxy that works and most of the them they will stick with it since it works for them, so they don't have to search for a new one every day, so what they do is remember the best one that they've been using and use it over and over, and even recommand them to people that needs it by telling them the domain, that way you gain more vistor. And sooner or later your site gets popular, you will start gain type in's to your main page and your ads will become effective and start earning some money. anyway, that's just what my theory is and i always know that don't expect to earn lots of money by just start a new site, look for long term vistor to your site, traffic is everything in this game(i mean for the whole internet world)

If it is myspace traffic ..it pays really bad on proxys .. some were in the range 2-12 cents ..now if you have a proxy that works on other type of traffic you see a lot more ..I have had 1.00 + clicks but not very often. agreed myspace blasting per-say ..last for a short short time.

my point is more just no aim for sending people to your front page just for ads but try to gain more user/vistor that use your service, so in a long run, traffic and money will no longer be an issue.

I got a friend that runs CGI Proxy and does not allow the URL bar in the header. He has the user go back to the home page to surf another URL.

Haven't tried it my self but sounds ok.

I agree that proxies are based on the return visitors.

My opinion is that the proxy user is searching for a proxy site that works, and then tell his/her friends about it (people in the same office/school)

My best proxy site has 80% traffic from direct requests, and a big portion of the traffic comes from 5-10 ip adresses/subnets which means that a whole school or office is using my proxy for some reason. And that's a proof that proxies are best promoted by word of mouth.
