I like the upgrade to xenforo and I'm sure the staff enjoy it as well. This is still a very active forum and a worthy one to stop and read from time to time. I also have no problems posting anywhere on the forum but I guess it's easier to start a thread and complain vs trying to find out why you may have restrictions on your account.
This place needs and will get a reset. The BST section turned weird at the same time.(Like Vincent Price Weird) I have a lot to say about it actually but even in hind site, there is nothing I would have suggested otherwise. Out of the gate, a lot of folks bitched about the move to xenforo. Having had to develop a few things with it I can state quite confidently that its better than VB by several orders of magnitude. I used to make considerably more cash here by simply helping folks. It still makes me entirely happy to help someone not drop cash on stupid seo services, fix a quick wordpress issue for someone etc. I rarely bid on things. Obviously, the leader of this place knew what he was doing. Digital Point is built on and predicated by people helping people. That is what it was when I got here. That is what it will be again. ...but I merely opine, Nigel
I feel the same too, the old DP forum is more friendly than now. I have to gain 'like' first if I want to make a thread in BS section. My feeling DP forum soon will be going down sooner or later. I can see it now.
I personally like the switch to Xenforo as it feels more responsive and user friendly (such as: market place, conversation etc.). I took awhile to adapt myself after the switch but I would say this platform is pretty user friendly and of course effective in addressing spam issues.
Have you been living under a rock for the last 6 months? https://forums.digitalpoint.com/thr...gets-5-months-in-federal-prison-ouch.2718377/
sorry friend,.. don't get that info, just thought that was old thread... that means by the end of december show will back here.. CMIIW
well, m8, I have twice less posts than you and 11 more likes than you. Maybe its something wrong with the style of your communication or something like that? I had my 3 likes in nearly no time by helping people to solve their requests and contributing in other ways. Simply increasing postcount does not mean you are contributing, you know...
I find it strange that alot says that there is no change at the forum maybe the stats of DP also show the negatice side of the change 1000 online members at the same time (old) VS 70 online members ( now) This explains everything ,... so Im surprised that many members ( alot of theme new to the forum ) didnt observed that the forum is going to the dark side giving an advantage to other webmasters forums. Maybe because it's Saturday morning, not Wednesday evening now? People are on their weekends and not on DP There always are visitor numbers fluctuations and I am sure administration will deal with this accordingly.
Man, as I said b4, and as Rado_ch mentioned - if you are here to spam - then the change is bad for you. We are here to communicate, contribute and advertise our services in a white collar way. Play nice and enjoy - or go to another junkyard of links, where everybody posts tons of trash daily with little to no result and staff was last seen 2 years ago. Why are these forums still alive? because domain expires in 2015-2016 and they use free hosting, flooding visitors with spammy ads and banners. We do not want DP to be like that.

I have been a longtime member of digitalpoint forums (2007) and I have to say the number of LQ posts have gone down quite a bit. But yeah everything else will be normal again in 32 days!

It took you 22 months to notice though, can't be that much of a big deal. This whole debate over user numbers (ie Alexa) highlights the problems of user quality which is why Google Analytics (for example) lets you track "conversions". From a user stats perspective how do we define quality? Number of logged in users? No incentive to boot out the duplicate accounts then... Number of guest users? How do we distinguish between the obscure bots, the ddos bots and real guests? Number of threads started? Not if they're all "tell me the latest SEO tricks now, dammit" Number of responses to a thread? Not if they're all people flaming each other Number of pages viewed? Time spent on the site? Ultimately you decide - when you come to the site and click "new posts" do you find threads of interest? When you ask a question do you get quality information? When you search for info do you find it?
You are just assuming as It took me 22 months Due to fact that I wasn't actively trading here in that time. When I hire services I always look at feedback first like most other buyers here. If I was a seller and lost my history and had to rebuild I'd be even more irritated.
OK, so you noticed, but you were too blasé to question the change, or read the other threads about it.
There are many who made fake feedback on old system. I had faced many scammers. But with new system, one can't give fake feedback as one have pay in real with PayPal before exchanging feedback. So more scammers are filtered for legit buyers & sellers. You haven't used the new system, so you are not benefiting from it.
