Google Pagerank screwed up?

Can someone explain to me why my site, which has had a Pagerank of 6 for more than a year has suddenly been dropped to 0?

    my site: www.computerbb.org

Here are some pages that have been linking to my site for over a year:

    PR7: www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/related/default.mspx
    PR6: www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/related/windowsxp.mspx
    PR6: www.google.com/Top/Computers/Hardware/FAQs,_Help,_and_Tutorials
    PR6: dmoz.org/Computers/Hardware/FAQs,_Help,_and_Tutorials

I have never done blackhat seo, and I don't think I'm banned because my site is still indexed in Google.

    So, what gives?

well its tough to say off hand. there are a pleura of things that could go wrong and cause this. I just did a quick search for your site in google.

"computerbb.org" is what I put in. I didnt even see your site in the first few results. This has got to be an indicator that your site isnt that strong to begin with. As far as PR goes, if you cant even rank for yoursite.com then PR is the least of your worries.

Right, but I'm thinking those are old datacenters that haven't been updated yet.

    I have another site, and:

the datacenters that show computerbb to be 0 show halobb to be 5
the datacenters that show computerbb to be 6 show halobb to be 4

Most of the datacenters show computerbb to be 0 and halobb to be 5, so I'm thinking those are the result of the latest update.

The not ranking for 'computerbb' also worries me, DMOZ and Microsoft both link to me with that anchor text, so I should be ranking high for that.

I used to be in the first 10 results for 'computer help forum' but then I dropped the co-op and my serps dropped as well, but this is the first time I've seen my PR drop.

It could be your outbound links at the footer of your forum.

ROFL, email Google, you can't be serious, I doubt they have anyone responding to their emails.

Those footer links are from the Co-Op.

you are definitely being penalized in some way...I haven't figured it out yet....

You have a small community for someone who was ranking top ten....

what is this co-op you are talking about?

the digital point co-op link exchange
there aren't many users/posts now because I just did a massive prune last week

After looking at all the datcenters, I see that 9 don't even have my site cached

What the heck is going on?

exactly how many posts did you prune? must have been a lot.

because more posts = more pages on your site = site appears larger to search engines = more internal links = more links back to your homepage = homepage has higher link popularity and more pagerank.

plus now that you erased a lot of posts the search engines have a lot of pages indexed that they are trying to crawl that don't exist anymore

suppose outside users linked to some of your forum pages...then you now have a whole lot of broken incoming links...I did a linkdomain search on yahoo and I found a lot.

you just did a major change without thinking it through and I think your site is paying the price

plus the digital co-op link exchange links at the bottom of your site are terrible...look at the quality of sites you are linking to?

I removed over 1,000 users and 3,000 posts

I was having these issues before I did any pruning.

Since I started the site, all 404's are redirected to the register page.

then you have a penalty...I am still trying to figure out what it is....you don't use any sneaky or black hat seo.....I'm stumped on this one but I'll keep looking into it. Even your alexa rank is in the tank......

Yeah, my alexa used to be approx 100,000

Too many links? LOL, I have way less links than any other forum.

I thought when google penalized you, they removed you from the index completely.

    http://www.alexa.com/data/ds/linksin?q=link:computerbb.org/&url=computerbb.org

Google, Microsoft, and DMOZ all link to me, you can't get more legit that that

    This is whack
