Hey Guys, I am sort of a new website designer, designing really just generic website for small businesses. charing like £100 a pop. I know right, close to nothing, but everyone starts somewhere right?

So I got this client, who wants something like this: http://affordable-cleaning.co.uk/Affordable_Cleaning_St_Albans_Harpenden_.html

It's looks terrible, but he said he wants an exact clone of it... But it's an HTML, not wordpress and I have no knowledge of HTML... Anyone konws a theme which can do something like this or similar?

thanks so much if anyone can help. This is literally like my only client I have.

Well you should have learned HTML before ever attempting Wordpress(unless you're a blogger), there's no excuse why you as a developer should not be able to design something similar to that website you're supposed to clone...100 pounds for a website? You're the reason why clients sometimes have the attitude they have, you should not be designing, you need to be learning, 100 pounds should not be worth your time as a designer. If anything you should direct them to someone that knows what they're doing and you charge 100 pounds as a finders fee. That way you get 100 for nothing.

Go back to your client and tell them you're not competent enough to do their work and they should hire someone else, and you in the meantime use your time to learn basic HTML, you shouldn't be looking for a theme to design something you deem "terrible"...you don't even know how to view source? My first HTML class, we were shown "view source"

You pay me to build a better version of that for you ;) . That websites super simple, I wouldn't even bother with Wordpress. Its just a few pages and a couple forms with validation. If you're trying to build it yourself do it all statically. If you know nothing about web design hire someone to make it a wordpress site so you can edit the content yourself.

That's Baffling that people are pulling clients and call themselves a designer without knowing HTML.

Kid, there is different terms for different people. Designer = years of experience, + university + photoshop skills
If you only know a bit of wordpress that just makes you a bit of a geek. I know HTML, CSS, PHP, MYSQL, and I tell people that I am a "junior coder", trust me, I dont deserve the title of "designer"
You calling yourself a designer is the same as me, calling myself a doctor.

To be honest, from where you are right now, try to make something nice in wordpress. If you use subdomains, you can make multiple examples, and the client might fall in love with this.
Or alternatively, reach out and consider hiring someone on fiverr to do it for $5.. But be warned, when you hire cheap workers, you get what you pay for.
