    I never bought pixels, but this may be a common experience:

    People who were actually on the milliondollarhomepage got some traffic because of the massive publicity, but for other knock-off sites, results have been less than spectacular.

    Totally Agree with MT Biker. The milliondollarhomepage had tons of hits because everyone wanted to check it out, but think of this when was the last time you went to a pixel ad site to visit sites?

    I've never done that and most people haven't either. So the chances that you are going to get strong traffic from a pixel site are pretty slim.

    My Theory is what follows:

    Users/Day = 500
    Usr/Month = 15000
    % Regist = 0,01% --- one in each 10'000 visitors regists
    PCA = 100$
    $ /Month = 150$

    so... in 2 months youll get = 300$. so u paid your square (200$).
    and still get 100$.

    :)

    or is it just me?

    many sites are trying to recreate milliondollarhomepage's success, but that idea was first and unique, none of the imitaters will get as much publicity and hits as the original founder, hence i doubt this would be worth spending money on. just my opinion...

    That's a common business theory that gets lots of people in trouble. "Oh, I just need to capture 0.01% of this billion dollar market and we'll be rich. It can't be that hard."

    I wouldn't buy any pixels from pixelotto.com because of the contest they have. I think you have a chance to win $1 mil. if you click on the ads. A lot of people will only click the ads for this reason, not because they are interested in your ad.

    Agreed. The way pixelotto is now, people are just clicking to register their vote. Just click and close the page that pops up and repeat 9 more times...

    look i dont want to cook 0,01% of the traffic of pixelotto.com .... i just wanted that 0,01% of the users that click on my ad (that is displayed at pixelotto.com) ... actually register there. :)

    notice that... as i said ... 0,01% -> 1 in each 10'000

    oh and these calculations:
    Users/Day = 500
    Usr/Month = 15000
    % Regist = 0,01% --- one in each 10'000 visitors regists
    PCA = 100$
    $ /Month = 150$

    notice that i only get 500 uniques/day. imagine if you get ... 1000. which you may (or not) get.

    and look ... if you have a: mywebsite.com and you create a folder: mywebsite.com/resend (that will send usert to some casino homepage $$$) not only you will get $$ from casinos, but you will also increase your PR, AlexaRank, etc of your domain. which is gooood ...

    at least thats what i think. but ... who am i. :p
    :)

    The problem here is I think that there is no for 5 years but max. 13 months or 1 month after all pixels are bought. If it would be for 5 years, I would buy one or two squares.

    The owner of the original site now has a new unique idea.

    http://www.pixelotto.com/

    It's more of a contest where you click links to enter!

    Maybe, but which ads will they choose? They may be "forced" to click but they will still choose the ones that look attractive to them. By the look or the topic...
