Hi guys, I need some opinions. I've set up an affiliate based website, with blog, directory of terms and directory of links related to the industry, which is website hosting. I'm finding it hard to locate places I can gain links from, to assist in the growth of my page ranking, and expansion of references in google. Does anyone know of any link suggestions that I could approach? social media I could follow, which can be commented on? Just genrally anything I can work with/alongside where I can potentially acquire some good healthy back links. I already have a twitter feed up and running, with followers. Regards, Sycrid. Any help and advice is always appreciated.
Firstly, if your in the website hosting niche, this is extremely competitive but also very lucrative. I would start off targeting low competition keywords. Here are some of the techniques I have used that have worked well: - Blog commenting, yes this still works despite what people say. Find high authority blogs that are related to your niche and you can score some do follow links on some. Leave relevant and thoughtful comments. - Review sites. There are sites that allow you to write reviews for companies (such as web hosting) and drop a nice link in the review. - Guest blogging. Contact similar blogs and exchange blog posts with each other, you'll both get exposure and backlinks. Don't use any paid guest blogging on your money site. - Link bait. Do a case study, give away something useful, or do an info graphic. These types of things will gain you natural links and traffic. You can submit your website to strong web directories, comment on related blogs, post on forums, social sites, videos, etc.
That's not true, all decent and quality websites are valuable whether they are directories or not, on the other hand, all spam and fly by not websites including directories, blogs, etc, are waste of time.
Can you state some decent and quality websites that you are referring for? Directory submissions are considered link schemes by Google.
Nonsense? In your post definitely FYI do you read the quality guidelines of Google regarding directory submissions and let's see who's talking nonsense here
Have you heard of Private Blog Networks? Hands down the most powerful links you can build without too much effort. PM me if you want more information about PBNs. As stated, you are in a very competitive category, but a PBN might be enough to rank you as long as it's in a relatively low competition niche.
