Thanks - I've added it. While it's not really of interest to most webmasters, I think it serves as a good reference point for a quality directory.

Yes, the irony hasn't been lost on me!

I was thinking of an in-between solution as I think that one of the strengths of the list is that it is pretty comprehensive and I'd hate just to dump all those listings. Basically, there would be 2 pages - page 1 would be like what you suggest and then page 2 would be the remainder of the directories, which would not be updated regularly.

What do people think of this?

Also, what would people suggest as a cut off page strength for a strong directory?

How about PS4+ directories listed on the main page, and the second page having directories with PS less than 4 :)

I'd say 4.5 and above on page 1, rest on page 2. Thats evenly distributed 1/2, 1/2, cus really if your directory has page strength less than 1... and its older than a month, then you are doing something really wrong.

The PS tool by SEOmoz is cool and all, but an added editorial function would be nice - namely, removing fromn the list any directory with sitewide links to pharma, gambling, etc sites.

Directories that do that have no trustrank.

I look at my two directories (in my signature) and I look at 95% of others, and I have to say that 95% others are crap.

John is right. An editorial note, and a human intervention and manual review would be best.

That seems a step forward in the right direction
Do you think that MFA sites should be added to your list of sites to remove or have you already included for them in the remove list?
The reason I ask is because you still see some sites that list MFA sites and even offer those sites in their sitewide links

Thanks for the suggestion. The problem with this is that a site may turn into an MFA site after it has been approved, but before it is re-reviewed. I'm sure all the best directories have a few MFA sites in them, just because of this. A few bad links aren't going to hurt a directory.

This is very different from a sitewide to a pharma or gambling site, which is knowingly placed there by the owner.

Hi onlinedude, that’s really a nice list. But where is “hedir.com”? That’s unfair man.
