... with all the crazy reports here and there, I don't know if it will be worth my while. So, my fellow Digital Forum members, is it worthwhile to get into the Twitter craze? Or, will I be only wasting precious time that I do not already have nor can afford at this time? Thanks for your response. Your opinion matters to me. Cheers! Alodie
I haven't use twitter for business purposes but I think I like it. Nowhere information can be that fast update like in Twitter.
People have will have different views here and I think it will take some time for you to get convinced so I suggest to try it for yourself instead. Signing up is not that hard. Tweeting is just 140 characters with just one click away. And it is much actually better to observe and see how it works. Good luck!
Hi SimpleSSS, Thank you so very kindly for taking the time to respond. This thought alone, "Nowhere information can be that fast update like in Twitter," is already making me pretty nervous. I am a very slow 'coach', and in addition, as you could tell by now, I am from the 'ol school', ... the very, very 'ol school." But it does sound really exciting. I just wished I hadn't waited around this long to get on board. Well, Twitter, her she comes. Once again, thank you, SimpleSSS. This is gearing up to be an exciting ride; I think Alodie
Hi Patricia Ann Lee, So kind of you to have taken the time to respond. I greatly appreciate that. Thanks a lot. And great admonition, "And it is much actually better to observe and see how it works. Good luck" This should be an interesting time of learning for me. But I think that I am going to enjoy it, somewhat. One thing I have now come to fully understand, and that is, it is becoming extremely necessary to learn how to function effectively and efficiently in this new environment of Web 2.0. Well, who would have thought. My world seem to be changing so suddenly, and so fast. And it feels really good to be able make fun at myself, at this time. Oh, well. This is truly the era of technology or whatever else it is called Once again, thanks a whole million, Patricia Ann. I appreciate your kind counsel. Alodie
It is up to you Alodie but I must say that it is fun to adapt to changes too, especially on new technologies that we have now. It not necessary to learn because it is a choice, but you don't wanna miss a thing
My Twitter account is getting more effective all the time. I now have thirteen thousand and rising Twitter followers and they are getting really responsive. If you can imagine having over one hundred thousand Twitter followers, many of whom are following few enough people to notice your tweet in their feed, it is well worth it. I have increased someone's Twitter following dramatically with just one tweet in the past so you can see how powerful Twitter can be. Just persist and you will get there.
PS I am putting together a Twitter course that will be geared towards newbies. I will soon be looking for people to test it for free. If you're interested, please let me know @DaveVerney
Hi Daverney, Thanks a whole million for the invite. Sounds good. Sounds really, really good. And oh, yes, please do count me in. I would greatly appreciate being a part of such an exciting endeavor. Then all I will need to do after that is to buckle down, and learn all I can, as fast as I can, and then... to take massive action - whatever those actions you will suggest. This is getting better, and better, and better, A lot more help from my fellow forum members, than I'd hope. Daverney, do let me know when you are ready. In the meantime, continued huge business success to you. Alodie
Yes agreed. Twitters is basically used for microblogging means in small words you tries to express more. Therefore can be very helpful.
Hi again PrabhatKumar, Thank you very, very much for the encouragement. I am beginning to enjoy this process. Mark you, it's going slowly. But 'going,' nonetheless. And I like it a lot. Once again, thank you ever so much, PrabhatKumar. A very good afternoon to you. Alodie
Over time, social media presence has become a must for every or at least most of the businesses. Twitter is one of the biggest social media giants, you cannot afford to ignore it. I'll recommend you to definitely use Twitter. It has tons of benefits and they will vary depending on what business you have. Twitter is great for brand awareness. When you are following, tweeting, retweeting, you are sending out a word about your business. You can get more close to your customers with Twitter by direct messaging and tweets. Also, you can generate new leads if you are good enough at tweeting, good use of hashtags, etc. That's just the overview of it. Good Luck.
Hi Maninder Pal Singh, Thank you so very kindly for taking the time to respond to my post. And, a resounding 'yes.' You are correct. For the life of me, I don't know who fooled me into thinking that I could get by, business wise, without being a part of this giant of an eCommerce superhighway. Foolish, Alodie. Very, very foolish, indeed. So yes, Maninder, I am taking the necessary steps to right the gruesome wrong that I've allowed to happen to me, by not taking part in the Twitter exchange, sooner. Once again, thank you for your support. It means a lot to me. Do have a terrific week. Cheers. Alodie
I joined twitter a year ago to follow a high school football game that was being played in Utah. I live in Hawaii and my high school here in Hawaii was playing a school in Utah and the only way to get realtime updates was to follow on twitter. I actually posted my first tweet this past April. I have found that following a few things that I like and a couple of friends has allowed me to learn a few things here and there as well as get some updates and even discounts on events around me. I guess it is like all social media, you can find what you are looking for and a whole lot more. How much time you spend with it is entirely up to you.
If you can market your site or product and get a sizable base of followers, then it is worth it. if you are using it just to gossip or fight, like many people seem to do, then yes, it would be a waste of time.
If you need to promote your business/brands through Twitter Trending Topic Services, feel free to contact me through Skype (TwitterTrendingTopic).
Many people find it effective, but just like in anything, I think it depends on your niche product or service. If you are able to do regular, short updates, I think it would be helpful to you. Save "long-form" posts for your blog/site or FB. Good luck to you in this new venture! It's always exciting to learn something new!
I absolutely agree – it really depends on your product. There are people who became really successful with it, so if it is possible for you to adopt twitting form, it is definitely worth a try. Good luck with it!
