Iv recently started a blog about html, jquery and php tutorials.

Check out the content and let me know what you think.

Ill be posting tutorials every few days

I don't want reviews on the design, just the content and layout etc

    Thanks

I don't know exactly what your purpose is for this particular blog. I am going to assume you want to make money by Adsense. If this is true I notice a couple of things wrong.

Your blog doesn't really have a specific niche. It is more of a general programming tutorial websites. There are hundreds of those already. I would focus on something specific. e.g. Specific tutorials on a particular wordpress theme, Advance tutorials on a particular language like php or python. If you can't find a specific niche, find a usp.

You can try focusing your entire website on programming tutorials that take less than 25 minutes to learn. It goes well with your current url. But all this depends on exactly what potential visitors are looking to learn. I don't know your niche. Programmers might want to spend hours at a time learning.

You also need to put up more content on your website. I know it is a new website. But you should try to post 1-2 posts online a week.

So spend the next couple of days researching your competition. Find out what current visitors are interested in. Try to come up with a unique angle for your website. And post valuable content frequently. This will help you create a much better website.

thanks, yeah its a very new site. I like the 25 minute thing you mentioned. At the moment its not for all programming tutorials like "How to create a database" im going for more like "how to create a facebook like comment system".

Well when you start a new website you should do plenty of research before you write the content. After you've got a fan base you can just write content by doing surveys and polls of your visitors.

But do you have a list of competing websites? I can give you better help if I understood your market a little better.

Ok I did a little research. The visitors you are looking to attract aren't really beginners. They're more like intermediate. They just need help with real life examples.

Srinivas Tamada is your biggest competitor. And he is sort of a recognized name in India among programmers. He is very social and active in his blog and social media.

With that being said you have several options.

You can focus do the same as him but target a different country.

You can do the usp I mention above and just reverse engineer his marketing and out-market him. You can get a lot of his high traffic keywords from alexa. You can get a lot of other keywords he isn't targeting by using Google Trends and majestic. I would focus on getting a few long tail keywords to build your content around that he isn't targeting first. If you need help with this I can walk you through it.

You can focus on a subsection of his niche say just doing jquery tutorials.

Or you can go the complete blackhat way and build a churn and burn website. Where you grab all his content and rewrite it and build a few backlinks to the article. He doesn't even do that much off page seo so it wouldn't be hard to beat him. However, this method would only last a 2 - 6 months at best.

How do you plan on monetizing this website? Do you plan on using just Adwords? Do you want to sell courses or ebooks down the road? Or you can use this website as a proof and credibility element to sell your services to clients.

Awesome , could you walk through how I would out market him. Where would I get backlinks from.

And at the moment I'll just be using adsense. Maybe in the future sell some scripts

    Thanks
    Dan

Well he isn't doing heavy seo. What I would do is test one article and one keyword. For instance write an article titled "Ajax Image Upload without Refreshing". Order a few backlinks from a backlink provider on here and see what the cost of ranking the article.

I don't know of any providers on here so I can't give a recommendation but I would focus on providers who provide links that are relevant, high trust flow and preferably contextual backlinks. Just purchase the lowest package available and scale up. Once you get this one article rank you can just rinse and repeat.

Oh I thought you were familiar with seo since you are on this website. Yes high pr contextual links are best. But pr isn't everything. Google hasn't updated it since last December. You should focus on high trustflow which is a metric that majestic seo uses. Once you purchase a few of these links from seo providers you can try to build your own high trustflow network when it is more feasible.

Yeah that is what I was referring to when I talk about building your own network. You can do that but at a later date. You don't want to focus on that right now. No point in spending money if you can't make money. So just purchase a small package of backlinks do gauge your competition. Once you can rank one article using this method I can explain how to develop your own network.

If your purpose is monetize for adsense, you better have an alternative. there are much better ways of monetizing than adsense not to mention the risk of getting banned by adsense support monkeys.

Well, there is a nice way to learn and earn both at the same time for you. The content is quite well written and descriptive. The fonts are taking too much space, but you said you are not concerned with it. I think you should add Android tutorials also there, as it's very much in demand.

I just noticed that the social icons are not provided with the URL. Just feed the URL in that so it doesn't make any wrong impressions on the visitors' mind. Logo and everything else is fine.

Visit stackoverflow for more tutorials. Get few backlinks and you will earn good via Adsense.
