I'd recommend either phpld or site-sift..

I use the phpld - but pay the $25 for the script - it's worth it! Cheap as, and your whole site basically runs itself...

    Oh - hi ya John!

Stay away from the paid version of SnowBlind Directory Script. I looked at the free evaluation version and it looked promising, so I ordered and paid for the licensed version. One copy. Don't know how but I was charged for two, and the link provided to download the software didn't work. We sent email and got no answer. We went to the support forum and to ask how to get the software. Instead of a reply, they banned our ip. So, no software, no reply to multiple emails, duplicate charges, and banned from the forum. Seems like a crook to me.

Nope, didn't do a chargeback, they only do PayPal and it's my understanding that PayPal won't do anything about non-tangible goods.

Nope, we posted a very short polite question. We said we paid for the software but the link pointed to just another html file where the software file was supposed to exist but it was an empty. Clicking on the parent directory link took us back to the snowblind site. We asked where we could get the file... then banned, no reply.

I had my husband do this for me because he's techie and I'm not. I did read what he wrote so I could try to understand what was going on, maybe learn a little. After he was banned, I tried to go to the forum to register and ask for help and apparently I'm banned too, must be an ip ban.

    I'm not impressed.

John, if I look at the script you recommend and decide to buy it, do you know if they offer support, or could you help if I run into any problems with it that my husband can't work out? He's very good, but he's not you. ;)

Thanks John, we're looking at it and it seems very impressive. Kinda like the difference between a rusty old tricycle and a shiney new car. I think we're going to go with that one. :)

Wish I could green you, but it say's I have to spread it around. I'll catch you soon.

dkessaris, maybe I'll pm him tomorrow, today I'm a bit angry about being banned just for asking how to get the software we paid for. Seems like a pretty lame support forum that would treat a customer like that.

I'm doin' the happy dance thanks to John. Did you look at that software he recommended? I'm so happy SnowBlind was a scam, otherwise I wouldn't have come to this particular thread and wouldn't have seen John's recommendation.
    dance, dance, dance.... :D :D :D :D

Alright let me get this straight, because I think before you start rolling out the accusations and using defamation you should consider that there just might be an alternative answer. Obviously if there is a free version of the script - and the purchased version is the same except it allows you to change the footer link - there would be no reason for me to withhold the script from you. Thus there is no reason for you to call me a "crook".

    This is what happened.
1.) You went through the paypal form, (after using the free version?) because you wanted to purchase it. You got redirected to an HTML page with a download link. At this time there must've been something wrong because you claim the download link didn't work.
2.) Because the download link didn't work you decided to go through and pay again. Not quite sure why, but I guess you had your reasons.
3.) The download link didn't work so you went to DAN's forum, and wrote something. This is not my support forum, this is Dan's directory forum ( http://info.vilesilencer.com/forum/ ). Because you wrote something that had nothing to do with him or his forum, Dan banned you.
4.) Dan then emailed me to let me know.
5.) I came back from my weekend away to this. This all must've happened within the last 48 hours.
6.) I emailed you the directory script - so it is all over.

Thanks for buying the SBD Directory Script, and I will hope you consider that there might be a reason for these sorts of things next time something goes wrong in the purchase process.

    I am infuriated by this.

You didn't go to SBD's support forum at all. You came to mine, and you posted such nonsensical garbage in an inappropriate thread that I assumed you were a spammer and banned you.

    The double registration didn't help.

Neither did these 2 nonsense PMs:

    1st:

    2nd:

nb: I have removed all email addresses and transaction ID's in the above quotes to protect the innocent (or in this case the stupid).

    Just for the record:
    - I do not sell software, I never have.
    - I do not own, code or profit from the SBD directory script (and I have no idea why anyone thinks I would - they are not in my signature on DP or my forum, and I do not promote them.)
    - I do have a link from my site to SBD, that is a link-exchange with the SBD owner.
    - I am a purchaser of 1 SBD directory script for 1 of my directories.

You also do not make mention anywhere of what software it is that you have supposedly purchased. Rather than recommend that people do not use someone's software based on your stupidity, perhaps you should do a little research before accusing people who have nothing to do with the software, or before abusing their forum and making demands.

My Recommendation is to completely disregard anything compostannie has said. They are either stupid or have no idea how forum protocol and etiquette works. I've wasted a lot of time chasing this up for you compostannie, but I wish I hadn't. Your ban on my forum stands.

In future compostannie, I suggest if you are having troubles with people's software that you contact the owner of said software and not make assumptions about who owns what. Also for next time (because I can guarantee you are going to have problems with whatever you buy on the internet based on your PMs and emails to me) it might be an idea to actually state the name of the software you are having trouble with. I may not own the software but I know who does and this idiocy could have easily been avoided with a calm, rational PM explaining what exactly you've bought and why it isn't working instead of the garbage you sent me above.

I've had my say on this. I won't say anymore I've wasted too much time on this stupidity already.

    Snowblind1
    - There were actually a few emails between points (3) and (4). I returned their email after they asked why they were banned. After a couple of emails it was discovered that the software in question was SBD. It was then that I contacted you. Before that, I had no idea who they were, or what they wanted. They looked like spam.

    Hi,
I'd also recommend to check eSyndiCat Pro 2.0. You can create your own sponsored plans in admin panel. 2 payment modules are included - PayPal, 2checkout.

silencer, you really should make an article about net-etiquette online and such - it could easily go high in the Diggs, it could be an entertaining satirical piece about yet another example of the many how-not-to-do things when trying to establish a presence on the Internet :D

As alternative, you can also use indexu :)
But it is not free and quite expensive compared to other available scripts.
