Selling Health Blog Site - 12 Year Domain

Here is a website that I have been holding onto for a few months too long. Unfortunately most of my time have been developing another, larger website, therefore this one needs to go.

    Site: http://weightwatchcenter.com
    PR: 0
    Revenue (This year) : $4.18
    Revenue (All Time) : $36
    Domain Age: 12 Years
    Domain Authority: 22
    Page Authority: 33

I actually put a lot of time into this blog, but not enough time. For a period of 6 months I was actually writing content for it each day. Therefore out of the 500 published posts, about 250 of them are unique content. The others are images, video, product review, or news through an RSS feed.

This site has a unique logo that I spend $50 on creating it along with a unique theme I purchased some time ago for $49.

Feel free to PM me any questions that you might have. Any analytic are all attached.

I have a very hard time believing that you really paid $50 for that logo, or $49 for the layout. Users here on DP could have provided you with the logo for $35 and under, and that theme maybe $12. There are actually free themes like that one. I do like the site, age.

    What is the reserve?

the age allows it some worth, there are backlinks.

The domain is not 12 years old, you really shouldn't say that. Its clearly a dropped domain that is only 4 years old.

    4 years is still respectable.

If your aware of how websites work, Sites are typically worth 3-5x mthly revenue. So if you make $4 a mth, your website is not actually worth over $20.

But I can respect quality articles, and the 4 year age aint terrible.

    Again whats the reserve?

You bring up some great points.

    1. The Domain Age
    - I used this site: http://www.webconfs.com/domain-age.php
Of course this might be a terrible site, in which case you can enlighten me with what sites you use.

    2. Revenue
    - This is clearly stated in my paragraphs. But once again it is $4 all the way this year.
    - Sites are clearly not only worth 3 to 5 times the monthly revenue. This lacks any amount for the domain age, the time put into the site, the articles, logo, and more. The reserve is for me to know, and you to find out.
    - * My site starts at $5, therefore I don't think you can go wrong with bidding at that price. I guarantee you, $5 is worth the website, and just about everything else included in it.

    3. Logo & Theme
    - At the time this was what I did pay for them. The $50 was for a professional designer I work with, maybe overpriced, but I went through several revisions.
    - The theme was sold to me as a $49, maybe I got ripped off?

I think you could have looked at my thread more and figured out some of the questions you asked, but thanks for the pointers and questions.

    1.
    Now Im a bit lost.

For domain age you would go to http://www.who.is/
also if you look at the top of this thread, DP automatically shows the registration date.
    Domain Registration Date:
    Aug 24, 2010

    2. I mentioned revenue because in the real world things are not always worth what you paid. Things usually have a way of judging price, again 3-5x what a site makes in 1 month is usually what a website is worth. Your saying it makes $4. So $20 is actually fair.

    3. I asked the RESERVE price. Your the one who set the RESERVE price. This is an auction, I can bid but it says reserve not yet met. This means YOU set a reserve, (a price which you would sell at).

    4. Again your time and effort is useless in figuring the cost. If you spend $250,000 building a hot rod (nice car) that does not make it worth $250,000 to anybody else except you. You could never recoup your losses with a site making nothing. Its how the real world works.

    5. Would you buy a site for $100 that makes $4 a mth?? Liar.

    6. Themeforest is one place where themes are $10-20 that are better than yours. Also DP is an excellent resource for logos and themes way less than $50 each.

    As a response,

    1. Yes, their is a slight difference. The DP shows when it was registered with Godaddy. However this domain has been around for 12+ years, and when you mentioned that it was dropped. I think something like this may have happened, but it is an old domain that has been through many registrars.

    2. Sure, feel free to bid $20 if you are interested! Thanks!

    3. I don't want to disclose the reserve price. If you want to talk privately I can listen to your offers.

    4. You are correct, yet their is a difference between a site that someone put a nice logo on, and one that has built a reputation and have some sort of content on them. Personally I would be more interested in a website with some age and content, then a site just constructed a day ago. They might both have little to no revenue, but one clearly outclasses the other.

    5. I have bought websites with little to no revenue. They are considered investments, and as long as you are able to continuously work with the website and invest time in it, then they can potentially be worth it. What I am trying to say that revenue does not translate 100% to how much something should be worth. You cannot say the same about a car, a car does not earn you any money does it? No, it is an investment that helps you get to places. In a sense you are trading some money in order to save time, which translate to money at the end.

    6. I don't mean to say that DP does not have some great resources. I have someone who I trust and someone who I like doing business with. These business partners are trustworthy and provide me great work, therefore I work with them a lot more. Once again, I know I can get this at a lower cost, but I rather trust designers that I have had some work with already.

Let me know if you have any more questions!
