I'm working on SEO for many website. One more thing i really want to know is what number of percentage of people who are using Yahoo as a main search engine. I see most people using Google as a primary Search engine. It might depend upon Country or personal experience. Lets Yahoo geeks in this area give some estimation!

I'm not sure of an exact percentage. What really matters though is the amount of quality traffic you can get from Yahoo. Sometimes it's easier to rank with Yahoo than it is to rank with Google.

    I agree @danasurvey on this.

But what I believe is every individual who is using Internet, have the facility of Yahoo (at least once).

Realistically though with the Bing and Yahoo merger of sorts, the two of them are a viable option that we can't afford to ignore. Not to mention, I've done quite a few tests lately. Yahoo search results in several areas, particularly biographies are a lot more relevant. When you don't find pertinent details in Google you do find them in Yahoo and Bing. That's mainly people searches but I ran quite a few for some top Forex and financial personnel and found far better results in the two "smaller" engines. While it may be true that you can get a better ranking in yahoo , the bottom line is that the reason we're aiming for that ranking is to get the visibility-- to get the targeted traffic-- to get the improved sales or increased bottom line. That means, sadly, that we've got to play ball with Google despite their returns being less relevant in some areas and despite being able to rank more readily in Yahoo, because Yahoo just doesn't send the volume that Google can. I just think in all honesty that eventually people are going to begin to see that the other two are still a good option and anyone who isn't working with Bing or paying any attention to them is missing the boat. Out of forty plus sites--mine and client sites, they send at least 15% of our traffic and why leave that on the table for your competition?

I feel as if the people that use Yahoo to search are the older people. I'm talking like 40 years old+. This is just what I notice from people I have met and spoken to personally.

I'm not sure of an actual amount. What really issues though is the amount of top quality visitors you can get from search engines. Sometimes it's simpler to position with search engines than it is to position with internet marketing.

not sure about the exact percentage but I think it's 15-20%. I must say that everyone likes Google and gives preference to its SERP and also Google has user friendly portal...

No exact digits, but I think yahoo can be a good avenue for news, sports, and others like helping webmasters.
