A New Type Of Ads By Goooogle .

It does seem to amazing have made CTR go up today which I think is rather strange

This reminds me when they came out with "ads by Gooooogle" vs "ads by Google" IMO..same thing/concept for us publishers. I guess we are at their mercy and serve what they serve us. I bet some top publishers are involved in testing, providing feedback etc.

 

Yeah, I also have the little G under my small rectangle ads

 

I just checked my sites and they still are on the old adds by google. Could be just a test run

 

right now its not showing always only shows some times randomly

I don't like it at all. Hopefully they listen to everyone and change it back.

 

I've seen it on my site as well. Apparently it's only shown on some sites, sometimes, so it is probably an experiment. I hope they decide against it though, because it looks real bad with my background colors.

yeah it does look like crap. My site is gray scale so they went with an all black Google. idk it might look better if all of the ad blocks looked the same at least

OMG it looks very ugly on the DP screenshot that radetzy provided!

 

What are you basing this on? Except for premium publishers, Google gives us very little control over the look of our ads, save for colors. And even then we can't change the color of the "Ads by Google" text, it's either black or white, not an option.

If you ask me, this is clearly against Google's own policy!!! One of their rules demands that we not call attention to the ads, specifically using images. This is what THEIR images are doing!! WTF??

Plus, it's in Google's very own "tips" section that Google suggests we blend our ads into our page... so are they going to tell us now that we can't blend our ads anymore??

 

sometimes google is very hard to understand!

they say and do things that make you think they want click thrus to go down
like adding there logo

then on the other side they tell you all kinds of ways to get more clicks (like blending and keeping ads high and middle on the page)


GOOGLE MAKES MY HEAD HURT

 

Just spotted my first one - I could put up with it if they offset it with a switch on your account to turn off the Ads By Google full stop...

 

It was on my forums first time I visited .. the black Google ... but not since.


I think it's a move to stop you blending ads so well. If it randomly shows logos sometimes, you'll never get them totally blended in.


But we'll see. I do find it hard to believe that they TEST things like this on the populace. Crazy.
