I don't think Amazon will quiet the inactive account. Mine doesn't make any sales but still alive.

    That's not true

Look at last paragraph in "Section #8. Advertising Fee Payment" in the Operating Agreement
    https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/agreement
    Code (markup):
It says, if you don't earn any advertising fees in 3 years, then they will deduct an "account maintenance fee" that will be less than $10 or the amount of unpaid accrued advertising fees in your account

They will charge fees only if you have existing commission with them. You'll never have negative balance due to inactive account fees

LOL no that is not true, but you shouldn't have to worry about that if you actually work hard to promote products.

No very untrue. Have used them a lot. Sold them over 100 items in the past. No within the past year or so, I've sold nothing. Account is still going strong, but don't use it as much anymore. Not banned though :)

You can rest assure that Amazon will not ban your account for that reason.

If that is true, Im sure many amazon users will be disappointed on Amazon decision. Its it would affect their traffic as well.

Not true. it will stay open. Amazon wants people to sell their products so it wouldnt make sense for them to close an account just because it hasnt sold anyhting in 3 months

I have more interesting question. Lets say I have 50% traffic from usa and 50% from rest of the world, I use xenforo like this forum, but I cant find good geotargeting ad manager so I am able to show only the same ad to all my users. As you know some things in amazon.com can be ordered only from USA. Now what is better I advertise, .co.uk or .com ?

No, I think the reason your friend's account is banned as he use promotion stategies that are not allowed by amazon's policy example: copy review content from sales page or use incentive offers or something like that.

It didn't happen to me. Although my state for a while was not approved by Amazon. It just recently became approved last year and I had to reapply.

This is second time I'm reading someone saying this. My Amazon affiliate account earned first cent after more than 6 months. Probably 3 years is the wait time before your account terminates or they charge a maintenance fee. Wish you earn soon.
