Maybe. I found this new community site, and when I say new I mean only about 13 members. I joined up along with a few of my friends. This site looks to have some potential. If you want to check it out here is the link: www.nerdville.net What do you guys think about this site, personally I like it. The lack of members for now is kinda of a downer. But I am sure that will change. John Guanzon
Is this your website? It's dreadful, it's running some cheap-o turnkey script and it's got no members apart from the guy who started it and a few of his friends. This site is going to go no where.
I don't think it's as good as zoints, maybe as it grows it'll get more features but it's a bit "me too" ish
Would still definitely prefer Zoints, even though I don't use it. Just looks a whole lot better, easier to use, with more members. Thanks for sharing though.
I personally can't see the appeal of social networking sites. What's wrong with a forum like this one?
Definitely an interesting idea, but could be implemented much better. I forsee a future of people spamming links to their sites....
There are a ton of niche social networking sites springing up. I think some of them have validity. It's kind of becoming like a new version of a forum. It will all depend on the number and quality of members. Also on whether they can offer something new. Here's a new one that started up for comic book fans. comicspace.com. I don't have anything to do with that site and am not even a member. Just kind of interesting to see what people are doing.
Nothing is wrong with a forum like this one, thats why we are all here, we prefer it over "social networking" sites
Niche social networking sites can be an asset if used wisely. They can be handy in helping you to locate others in your niche to network with. Of course, they are not all created equal, and some will be better than others, depending on promotion and the owner's dedication level.
