I have an adgroup which has been reviewed long ago and is now up and running with no problems. If I add additional keywords to the adgroup... 1) Will it subject ads in the adgroup to a new review? 2) Will it impact the QS of the adgroup as well as of the ads in the adgroup? My guess to this one is "yes, of course" but just confirming.
No, Review are per ad and notice that ad review are only required for: - Your ad to run on content network - your ad to run on blue centered sponsored ad (search network) you ad do not need to be reviewed to run on search network There is no adgroup Qualitu SScore, the QS is per keyword, each keyword has its own Quality Score and adding Keywords to an adgroup or campaign or account will not affect others Keywords Quality Score So you are free to add more keywords and this will not affect other keywords and this is one of the best practices you can do to your reduce advertising overall costs in AdWords as you bring more traffic without paying more per click.
Thank you for your reaply and I think we'll have a good discussion now. 1) As far as I know... *every* Adwords new ad gets eventually reviewed. Whether or not it can start running and where before it gets reviewed is another question. So my original question stands: will me adding more keywords to the adgroup, mark the adgroup for a new review by Adwords reviewers. Whether the adgroup will continue to be showing and running immediately after I ad new keywords - is not what I'm asking about. 2) As far as I know.. yes, each keyword has its own QS but also every ad has its own QS. I've also heard that every adgroup, every campaign and even account as a whole - all have their own QSes.
Every ad is reviewed. Adding new keywords will not sending your ads to be sent to queue review again The only actions that send your ads to be reviewed again are, (After first standard review), as far as I know:: When you edit the ad Sometimes when you change the targeting countries area configuration of your campaign - for example from US to entire world (all campaign ads are send to be reviewed again) Someone told about that each time a particular ad reaches the number of 100,000 impressions it is sent for review again - but I don't believe No, ad has no QS, adgroup has no QS, campaign has no QS, account has no QS - this is all wrong. Only Keyword has its own Quality Score and it do not affect any other keyword Quality Score in your account.
Sometimes when you change the targeting countries area configuration of your campaign - for example from US to entire world (all campaign ads are send to be reviewed again) Thanks. How sure are you about the statement above? Also.. "sometimes" ... what does it depend on?
I've spoke to a couple reps about this. ANY changes to your account will go to review if it's flagged by the system. They won't tell me what exactly gets a red flag, but it's quite a list apparently. If your current adgroup is doing well, DO NOT TOUCH IT. Create a new one and dump the new keywords into it. That way you will not "jinx" the old one.
Welp, I just asked my rep and he said newly added keywords ALWAYS flag your adgroup for a review! Anyone else wanna chime in?
OK I was just told that no 1 keyword in the adgroup influences the QS or CPC of any other keyword in the adgroup. So for example you have 1 really shitty keyword and 5 great ones.... so the shitty will have a high CPC and the 5 will keep their low CPCs...
