Hi, this is my first post in this forum. I am considering buying a link from a website that's a little related to my own. (They are in the same genre) This website scores a SEOmoz page strength of 6 but I want to buy the link for the traffic and not so much for the PR right now. This website is around 60,000 in Alexa and the link would be displayed on the upper 1/3 portion of the site but towards the right with about 5-6 other paid links. With the information I presented, does anyone have a rough estimate of how much traffic I would get from that link? This would be my first time buying a link and I want to have an idea of how much visitors I'll get from it before I put money down for it.
A lot has to do with your anchor text too. Will those visitors be interested in your anchor text to find out more. I have a few sitewides on my music site and one anchor text is "Free blah blah blah", and that gets a lot of clicks, while the other is a one word anchortext and doesn't get nearly as many clicks. just make sure your anchor text is appealing to the user as well as SEF (search engine friendly) to get your point across and obtain traffic through it.
The link cost 45 dollars a month and judging by the all those factors I mention, I think it is a good price, that's why I'm considering it.
With that information, it is impossible to determine the number of visitors your link will attract. Honestly, the only way to find out is to try it for a month and track the referrals.
That makes a lot of sense. I'm going to apply this knowledge and use interesting anchor text if I buy the link.
Try it for a month. Then, consider the value compared to alternatives. For example, in some niches $45 will bring a lot of traffic via Adwords or another PPC provider.
You could try and contact the other advertisers and see if they will give you an idea. You could also ask the owner of the site how many hits he thinks you will recieve. good luck and let us know how it works out.
Depends of the niche. If it is webmaster/SEO related it could have only 400 visitors a day. If it is computer related it could have 4000 uniques a day, and if it health related 12000 visitors... So, If the link is on main page and it doesn't have more than 80 links and more than 10K od text and 10 images (it isn't overcrowded), I would estimate you would get 0.5-2% of its visitors daily.
where the link will be does it say sponsored links or something similar, if people know there sponsored they dont bother clicking 70% of the time, maybe if there just links what the site is reccomending then it would be ok
