    Hi all,
I would like to learn Adobe Illustrator, but I'm uncertain on the best and most rapid way to learn... Video tutorial on YouTube, take a good book, or pay some course like Lynda...

Any experienced designer can help me?
Describe me your story and your experience...

    Thanks in advance.
    Regards

Hi there, IMO the best way is to start with the basics. I wrote quite a few tutorials on Illustrator a few years ago and it seems for beginners it's bets to learn the basic tools. They are the foundation of it. I recommend tutorials that are either nicely illustrated with pictures or well done videos. There is tons of free stuff out there, but I always liked the Lynda videos too. When I started with Illustrator, I watched a few videos and then the rest was practice. I love Illustrator :)

Yes, I agree with monawerks, start with basic shapes. Tutorials can be great source for picking up the tricks, so watch them on a daily basis. Also, give yourself a task, concept and start from the sketch. Draw, draw, draw... practice is everything.

You can just start to mess up with some imnages by yourself. Discover options one by one, if you are not sure what some tool do, check out documentation online :)

First you need to find motivation to learn illustrator
(why you want to learn it in the first place)?
If you really wanted it you would already started to
learn and not waste time here asking :)

Open up website like vectorstock and see how are other
illustrators are selling their works. When google for adobe
illustrator tutorials, illustrator background tutorial or something
similar, follow tutorial, do not copy it exactly - make your
illustration a different from the tutorial you follow but with same style maybe.
Upload your work to websites like mentioned above.
If you sell it for a few times, you will be making more illustrations soon.

The main thing - find a way to motivate yourself. This is the easiest way to learn.

How long did it for the 3 levels? I have been told it can take 1 month for each level.

Totally agreed with monawerks. Lynda tutorials are best.
