How important do you think pictures are to bloging?

I am working on a new blog and I am wondering how important do you think pictures are to a blog? I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 which takes some amazing pictures and video. Do you think that that's enough or should I be looking into a DSLR camera?

pictures and images are very important. At least one picture/image per post, but I know that very popular posts have also 2 or 3 of them to explain visually what you read in the post.

 

picture reflects the actual thing that writer want to say. it has importance in the blogging.

 

If you want to take pictures yourself, you phone should be enough if you'll do them right.

 

you need the right phone, anyway a cool smartphone can make impressive pictures, but an old phone........

 

I think photos are very important when blogging. They help give the reader a visual and promotes social sharing on sites such as Pinterest. For my blog I usually use a professional feature photo and when reviewing products I let my iPhone be good enough. I do have a professional camera but I find using my phone to be more convenient for me to avoid having to hook the camera up to the computer to get the photos off, etc.

 

I'd say they are equally as important as your written content. Statistics show that readers are a lot more likely to take notice, and engage in, your content if you have attractive and well presented images. Personally, good quality photographs are one of the first things that attract me to a blog and determine whether I'm going to continue reading or press the 'x'!

 

And like Funmom said, make it a whole lot easier to promote on other social networking platforms, like Pinterest and Instagram for example. They attract a lot more attention than just words alone and sometimes the attraction to the images themselves lead to someone being directed to your blog and posts.

 

Images as well as videos and infographics are so important. Why? because it attracts readers. The more attractive, inviting or enticing your pictures are the more likely you'll get your readers attention.

 

it depends also on your blog topics. It's obvious that an entertainment blog needs more images to attract visitors. While a business blog needs more useful content than images.

 

Pictures are just another tool to enhance the appearance of your post. Some people respond to titles while others respond more keenly to images / graphics and the whole pile! You just have to be careful though because you do not want to add pictures to ALL of your posts and later realize they do not accurately convey the message you were trying to project onto your readers

 

Pictures along with the articles helps people imagine the proper things about your vision presented in the article.

 

The images on blogs is very important, especially for SEO too if you use ALT for the images. And beside using images in articles makes them look more professional and it also lure in some traffic because there are a lot of people who like looking at some pictures.

 

It depends on what you are writing. Not all posts need an image, but most of the time they are useful. They attract attention and get visitors to stay on the page longer.

A basic camera phone is good enough. You don't want very high quality images as they will slow down page load times.

 

Good Images and Good Content are just the perfect combination to a great blog online!

So yeah, pictures are important for blogging and creating your own pictures for the blog is even better.

I try to create my own images for my blogs with Photoshop. If you have a good camera and a good Image Editing Software, go for it!

Get very creative and use your own images. People will love originality with good creativity. Create good things people will love.

anyway the top ranking blogs use also 2 and 3 images per post. The dimensions of the images are important as well. They must attract attention but let people read properly the content at the same time.

 

Camera phone picture are usually low quality, so I wouldn't make them a main feature (generally speaking). However, your own pictures are royalty-free and every blog post should have at least one image.

 

I took the S5 back to AT&T and now I have a Sony 830 that I take the pictures with. It does a awesome job and it was only $98 on Amazon.

Pictures and videos are very important. You must realize the average person hates reading and prefer to look at a pic or watch a short video.
