I prefer the older horror films rather than the more recent ones, one of my favorite include The Poltergeist and Dreamcatcher. To me they have a better plot and better acting than some of the more modern horror movies. Thoughts?
Most of the movies I watch aren't extremely scary, just screwed up and disturbing. Most of my movies are either from the early-to-middle 1900s or 1980s to 1990s.
I don't like the slasher movies. But other than that, I like scary movies on any one of a number of topics. I think that The Exorcist was groundbreaking as a movie with scary, shock-type scenes.
i don't watch horror movies much..it scares me alot.. that i start getting such horriblee images in my dreams
I watched Oculus just yesterday. Different from all other horror's i have seen. Lots of twists and turns. "A woman tries to exonerate her brother, who was convicted of murder, by proving that the crime was committed by a supernatural phenomenon."
Same. New movies focus a lot on the viscera, on gore and on jump-scares. Older ones, because they could not rely so easily or heavily on computer graphics, had to be more innovative. I like movies that build tension through the plot, not gimmicks. One of my favorite is The Thing.
The recent movies aren't that scary and a lot of them are just remakes of asian horror movies, wich are way better. For example I loved the "One Missed Call" (japanese version).
If I have nothing left to entertain myself I watch horror movies. These are the last option for me...
I love watching horrors in the dark, alone. Insidious/Insidious 2/The Conjuring(2013) are damn good, give it a try, loved them all.
