I have a great keyword domain (a couple actually) - would it be wise to create just a 1 page with great content and then just have a hyperlink to our main website? Will this help us rank organically or do more harm?
Its good, but host the domain at different web hosting. And yes, more contents pointing to your main Article on your keyword domain will help more.

Kamaldeep, I wont be using EMD to be my main site though..... yes their on separate hosting. Example: Keyworded domain is setup as a wordpress blog site with content and it has backlinks within the posts pointing to my main domain that does NOT have keywords in the domain. Just 1 way links to main domain. Main domain does not link to keyworded domain. I have keyworded domains and I have nothing on them right now but I would hate to have someone else get them then they use them for a Main website, you get me? So my question I guess is what should I be doing with my keyworded domains since I have a few of them instead of just sitting there doing nothing?
@Kamaldeep Singh SEO Having an EMD has nothing to do with Google slap. Still so many EMDs rank on top. @tokipost To rank for highly competitive keyword, most people do the same what you are doing. They buy lots of domain with main keyword in it, write articles and link to the main domain/website. One more thing is, enable privacy protection for your EMD domain, so Google can't see it's your domain.
That is a tad ridiculous and about 3.5 years old thinking wise. I agree entirely with with the first part of your comment but this, is entirely wrong... that is wrong on many levels.

It is good to hyperlink your main website through keyword domains, in terms of traffic generation and getting a backlink. I suggest not to just create one page with quality content, but update those blogs on regular interval of time.

So that it doesn't directly match any keywords but it helps the users to find what this domain is actually for.
Keywords in the domain will perform best, but with this you have to also improve the quality of your website because the EMD update of Google only affect to that website those who are just ranking their website on the basis of keyword in their domain. So please take care while using the keyword in your domain name, you have to also take care for the other circumstances of this technique. Otherwise you will be badly affected by the Google's EMD update.
