hi. i hava a faN website http://www.britneyfans.org and i built a forum. my forum was getting lots of spam ( dunno why? ) about casinos and pills and that kind of things. my website lost lots of traffic from google. maybe its that links fault? . i just closed my forum .. hope serps come back again
You might want to tune your forum so that the bots will not index any links (in posts and signatures) like what DevShed is doing
same happen to me. and I closed also my forum because of all bad links. before i delete everday all the bad links like pills casinos etc. etc. and at the end cannot rid it anymore so i decided to close my forum.
DO NOT do that. We as writers and contributers of a forum, love to have something back from that community! Since most of us are webamsters, the greatest way you could reward a webmaster is with a link. That's why EVERYONE hates SEOchat and the other member sites. Because they could care less!
I honestly don't think it will hurt you in terms of Google if there is a little spam every now and then. Try and get some more moderators. If your forum is pretty popular and you are making some money, perhaps pay some people to moderate. Also, ban the IP addresses of spammers so they don't come back.
