    Hi all,

i have removed site-wide link from one of our client eCommerce website 6 months back, as it generating lots of dynamic url on each day, but still Google webmaster showing more than 45000 links from that domain, as per my knowledge if we removed the link from that website and Google will remove it from webmaster on its next crawl to that website. but still it showing huge amount of link.

which is a factor of worry, any views or good point share on this will be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Rahul Setia

    Hello,

If you removed the link, then any. Google does not have one index. It has at the very least four: one with the "current" index information, one with the "new" index information brought by the crawler bots, one with the "fresh" news from news websites, one for graphics and videos.

I cannot speak for them, for sure, but I believe you are seeing the dated reports on Google Webmasters Tools, and that they will eventually clean up by themselves.

By the way, I wouldn't have removed that link if I were you, particularly if it was a relevant link (for example, a link from a shoestring manufacturer to a shoes company).

But its not a relevant link that's why i have removed it. and i have seen the reports from the google webmaster for the time period of last one month, it still showing 45000 links to our home page. which is not relevant and as i told u previously i have removed 6 motnhs ago the link we have on thier site but still google is not removing it from thier index. should i need to disavow manually but disavow will also not support you properly as i have disavow many domains like domain:abc.com which i giving more than 5 lacs OBL's to our website. i have disavowed this website 2 times but still more than 3 lacs links are remaining.

    Thanks,
    Rahul Setia

If the link is not there any more, do not do anything.

That's because the Google Webmaster Tools report you mentioned still feature links from the older indexes Google manages. As I mentioned, search engines, Google at least, uses more than one index of websites.

Google Webmaster Tools is much slower at reporting backlinks.

Google Webmasters has a huge lag in time. Don't worry.

It's because Webmaster Tools index is a horrible place to check links, it's always really oudated. You should be checking different backlink checkers like ahrefs and majestic instead.

Those links will continue to show up in webmaster tools for a while. Changes you make to a website are usually not reflected in Google for at least a couple months and sometimes longer. If you've removed the links, don't worry about it; Google's just slow.
