Myspace Tool

Discussion in 'Social Networks' started by Morgan, Dec 9, 2006.

Hello, myself and my partner have just completed a cool new myspace addon/tool and we need some ideas and help on how to promote it and get it across myspace and blogs world wide.

Firstly this is unique no other tools do anything similar and we hope to bring out new version for it to keep adding to the greatness of the tool. Although we hope we can get this version popular first and start getting traffic to our sites and in turn getting revenue.

You can see an example of the tool here so you know what we are talking about!

    http://www.scroll.tv/tools/myscroller/example.cfm

This is were users can make there own scoller.

    http://www.yourspacelayouts.com/myspace_scroller/

Any suggestions or help is much appreciated!

    Thanks

    Morgan

I tried once with Firefox and it worked alright I guess. The second time I tried to open it it crashed my browser.

I have tried the example in both Firefox 2.0 and IE 7 and neither worked for me. If your tool doesn't work in these two browsers give up now ;)

Worked fine for me. Very cool.

Looks like a Flash 9 object.

The people having trouble should make sure you have the most recent player.

A tech question. How do you access thefriend thumbs? Is there a MySpace API available.

I'll start by adding it to http://www.sickscripts.com . I suggest finding other webmaster and myspace sites and asking the owners to add it. Many find such new tools useful new content and wouldn't hesitate to add a link to it. You can send bulletins too.

I can't see the tool, but the example scroller is neat :)

Make sure all your friends add one of these to their profile.

Yeah everyone will need the latest version of flash to view the scroller. Yep i have my friends and family displaying the scroller on their myspace profiles although that doesnt make up a large amount of people.
I will try and contact some myspace sites today and see if they would be interested in adding one to their site etc and see if we can get a few larger myspace sites to help us out. If anyone has a blog or profile please feel free to add one for us.

Thanks and keep the ideas coming!

I have just updated my Flash player and now it's working fine. Thanks for that, didn't realize there was an update available :p

Perhaps it would be worthwhile to mention on the page that Flash 9 is required?

I've noticed it looks much better in profiles with tens of thousands of friends. If you have like 50 friends you can see the same pictures all the time :)

I wonder if you could pull all the pictures from an account and not just the profile picture? Probably much harder though.

Yeah we are working on new mods for the tool although its hard to do as myspace changes all the time. We hope to have a top friends replacement tool and myspace group scroller out soon.
Any more suggestions are much appreciated!

    Thanks

nice tool, and it works fine for me!

do you have a spam myspace account?
I suggest getting Adder Robot, it works like a charm.

And then just posting those around so people start seeing them, make sure you have a link so they can get there own!

    Good luck!
