I've got my husband and my kids but only my husband is actually in my room - unless I go in there for peace and quiet and then you can guarantee they'll be in there with me.

None, now. I just left my alcoholic flatmate last week! I now have a roof over my head thanks to the good graces of my parents.

Annoying roomies are the worst. I've already promised myself that I won't share accommodation in future, unless it's a romance thing ;-)

I had a room mate once who was a bit arrogant and selfish, it always had to be about her. She was a pretty little thing and she knew it. She wasn't particularly good at paying her share of the rent either.
Nope, after that experience I don't think I'll ever get another cat again.;)

I try to live without roommates. That spares lots of time and nervous energy

My wife and two kids are okay, but then there is this issue of the family dog...Let me list the ways this canine "roommate" annoys me:

    1. Dogs stink except for a few minutes after a bath.
    2. She chews/ruins anything she can get her mouth on. This can be quite costly when clothes, electronics, etc., are the victims. Yesterday, this habit resulted in her chewing on a stick that got lodged in her mouth so badly that she had to be rushed to the veterinarian to get it dislodged. A Vet bill was in order, of course.
    3. Despite that nasty places that she puts her mouth, she wants to lick anyone crazy enough to get close to her.
    4. She barks madly for no apparent reason
    5. She constantly makes a point to be in one's way when walking around the house.
    6. Dogs stink except for a few minutes after a bath. (worth repeating)

These are just things that come to mind because they have occurred in the past 24 hours and she has been a roommate for about two years now with no end in sight.

Training is in short supply, boredom is plentiful.

Perceptive observations that only compound my annoyance because I have spent considerable sums on such obedience training (which also involved my wife and children as part of the process) and was promised by the three of them that they would "take care" of the dog as I was very ambivalent about this because I am on the road a lot. Note that the dog gets a play date with a neighbor's dog (identical dogs that play actively with each other) 5 out of 7 days per week and two walks per day.

And did I forget to mention that she poops all over the yard, making it a virtual toilet bowl that we toss a ball around in?

Now, that would be annoying. We got a dog when my son was 10 and he swore black and blue he'd be awesome with it. We only went ahead because I knew that I was committed and had the time. True to form my son is like every other kid who wanted a puppy - great at play, crap at responsibility.
