@Henry Calvin Yup Bro Search Status is great tool, We can check Alexa, PR, MOZ but I am unable to check compete rank. We can finde Indexed pages, Robots file, dofollow links etc. at the end Search status is great tool for you @dinrock
Much appreciated for all your input. Since I use Chrome, I decided to use the app Pagerank Status and it's great. I also like PageRankChecker.com - THIS HELPS!
I use the PageRank Status extension for Chrome. Edit: Sorry, just saw you find this out for yourself in the post above.
Yeah, if you just need the PR then the chrome app is teh best option available, but for more in-depth analysis you could use one of these: moonsearch.com (provides PageRanks, Alexa Ranks, listings in DMOZ and Y!Dir, basic whois data, info on hosts, registrar, registration/experation date, etc.) bulkpagerank.com/ (for mass checking of PageRanks. Convenient when you have a long list of backlinks to go through and need to see which are trashy/useless) and the aforementioned pagerankchecker.com Simple, but totally gets the job done.
Pagerank has always been a curiousity in my SEO efforts. Although over the years, I have noticed oddities. Such as a #4 ranked site can be showing MORE traffic than say a #8 ranked site. Have you noticed this? What I mean is higher rank doesn't always mean "better" BTW: I noticed that PageRankChecker showed return on my site (in my signature) does not exist in DMOZ when in fact it is in the DMOZ listings. Noticed this with a few other URLs I checked....when in fact they are in DMOZ (not that being in DMOZ is anything spectacular)......
How recently did you get listed? Maybe it's one of those things where the crawler just hasn't re-checked your site yet?
I have been in DMOZ about 10 years. See this link. Same site in my signature. So if you check page rank for my URL in that PageRankChecker, it shows the site NO in DMOZ.
dinrock: The higher pagerank does not necessarily mean higher rankings either. It's also about page relevancy and juice links coming in. Also, now Google places more emphasis on social signals. The reason for different readings is because the pagerank checkers obtain their info from various datacenters, which may report different information concerning your site. Jinx
Thank you comtec. I think my next step is to get more "juice links coming in" like you previously mentioned . . . . do you know how to achieve that?
Do you use those 3 Confident? I tried signing up for ahrefs but that was a trick to get my email address because the free version was exactly the same thing.....
You can also try Chrome's extension called "Web rank SEO". Additionally it shows you some other Ranks as 'Compete, Quantcast, and Alexa' as well as Google, Bing and Alexa index status and some other parameters.
