On adbrite I can buy a one weeks link ad on a very popular site (file upload site) for about $160. This seems like a really good deal especially since the cpc comes to about .05 cents each click. Now my questions to everyone here is whether or not you would purchase this and if so what ad would you put on it from azoogle? I'm thinking about just buying it for one week and putting high paying offer such as ringtones. The way I look at it, even if I was to get a 1% conversion rate that's 36 signups X $10 (average ringtone offer) = 360 - $160 (ad cost) = $200 profit Days: 7 Avg total clicks: 3,620 Avg CPC: $0.05 Any help would be appreciated.
Test it see how it goes... adbrite is always a crap shoot. The good thing is your not out much money to test.
Thanks to Shoemoney and xboxundone for replying. I just went ahead and placed the order and will keep you guys updated as to how much profit comes out of this.
Sometimes there are good sites on Adbrite, but a lot of times the site isn't accurate. I have written and rewritten ads on some sites and still can't get close to the clickthrus they claim on their site. So just because it says that is the average, a lot of times it doesn't necessarily mean that's what you're going to get.
Based on my testing, you probably won't get close to the clicks they are showing, and the traffic is not great for conversions. But as everyone else said, roll the dice and try it. You can always get lucky!
From my experience. I bought a 7 day Text Ad for Friendster.com, CPC came to about 0.20. On average people got about 2300 clicks from that campaign. I got clost to 2200 clicks but with only about 12 sales... It was waste of money... Good luck if you try it.
Adbrite is a different monster... You really want to write ads for clicks not for conversions... cause you dont pay more for clicks if they dont convert.
1% conversion on traffic that isn't necessarily looking for ring tones might not be realistic. please do keep us posted.
Good Point !!! This is traffic which is not looking for ringtones but is curious enough to click on your link and see what it is...In my case, I got about 12 sales out of 2200 clicks...Soo Good luck man and keep us posted if you start the campaign.
good luck - Ihope you get some good return or at least your money back. Its my personal experience that using adwords has NOT made me a profit yet. but your using something else....
One thing to be careful of are the scammers on adbrite. People will put a site on adbrite and then flood themselves with bad traffic to boost up their stats (including clicksthroughs), and then use that to raise their rates and get a higher price from unsuspecting people. Since the real key to making adbrites work is trial and error, they can make money off people just testing when they charge 200-fold what their site deserves. Not saying all adbrite is like that, but I have come across a few in my time using them.
How many total clicks did you get? Like shoemoney already mentioned, when using adbrite you want the most attention grabbing adcopy you can use because you are paying the same for 1 click as you are for 1,000 clicks.
