Most average people doubt online business.

People are skeptical of entrepreneurs in general, and your parents will always be worried that you are investing your time in things which will not benefit yourself in the end. Experimentation is risky by nature, but keep working and it will pay off well..!

Make money online is not visible, so many people, especilally the old ones doubt on it. It is amazing!

 

I do some of my work online, and some of my work offline. Once my signature shows up you will be easily able to see my online marketing pages. Thanks for asking!

People that don't understand something put it down. I knew a 17 year old casino affiliate making $1 million a month. (No joke). So let them put you down. You show them by showing by the time you go to college, its paid for. By the time you graduate college, you never need to work again. Then mention to them you glad you didn't take their advice.

 

Setting up an online business is time-consuming. But at least the overhead is lower than for a traditional business, but then again maybe not if someone wants to have a high mass-advertising budget.

The statement "people who work jobs hate online business" may be general as someone mentioned, but it's not far from the truth. A person might be able to pull in enough to at least rent a room and buy food but they're somehow stilll less of a person than someone who works from 9 to 5. Some people who don't believe in making money online are probably jealous, or maybe just skeptical because they might have failed at a business venture at one time or another.

 

Many reasons could be there, some of like
1) People prefer only 9 to 5 job, not bother of taking risks to do something own, or no like to work for many hours.
2) Not willing to learn more and earn more.
And one more thing, sit with your mother and tell her that you are making money with the kinds of work you are love to do (and that is the most important thing).

 

I dont think people understand just how big the internet is & the fact that you can make money from it. The conventional approach of school>uni>job>retirement is so old and becoming more and more redundant.
It has never been easier for someone to do what they want and get the necessary training for it.
I always feel the skepticism when I tell people im into "internet marketing". They assume it is one big scam.

 

They will see you differently when you show them that you've earned something, ask your parents out for a dinner and tell them that the money you use pay is from the internet

 

That's nice! I used to have talks like that with my mom long ago... She also didn't believe that there's any use of those new technologies

After experiencing a few internet scandals and sharing with my parents, none of them are appeased by my actions. Currently, I am earning on a minor scale and none of them are believing me

I might be that people who have day jobs focus more on the interaction that comes from talking to people face to face that get's things done. I think that networking face to face can definite increase someone's capability to work online.

 

I think its partly because face to face interaction has become the norm by which society thinks we are accomplishing something. With that being said, I know that networking face to face can be a powerful way to get contacts to increase one's ability to work online.

 

I have to agree AbstractChaos, but you could show your mom how to create a slideshow of pictures for example, using iMovie or Moviemaker, and then show her what you are capable of creating and what you get paid for it. Then, she may see the value behind what you do
