Hi, I try to figure out how much work it would be to create such a page: http://universeries.hellohikimori.com/en I know that the page is build in: -HTML5 Canvas -JavaScript -CSS3 It would be great if someone can make a assessment about the difficulty of the project for a coder who is skilled in this languages. The question refers to the presentation (universe) not to the intro and content of the page.
I looked through the page and if you're skilled enough I'm sure you could do it, however when most people start projects and they get stuck, they research their problem, to me the best way to learn is to tackle a project your mind is telling you you can't do, then research tips and figure out how you can.
Given what an inaccessible mess that is, my question would be why would you want to? On top of all the crap you aren't asking about that's on EVERY laundry list of how not to build a website (the "splash page"/intro part), the 'universe' thing is confusingly useless no matter how 'pretty' it is, and since it's scripttardery with no fallbacks it pretty well throws accessibility out the window. My advice -- don't... Just DON'T. It's just goofy crap to hide a complete lack of actual content, to confuse users with a "what the **** am I even looking at", and in general make using the site near impossible.
Hi, I have checked it out as well. It is an amazing site with superior experience. However, it would not be a good idea to be your main site because it have serious accessibility issue. Besides, without latest browser, you should not be able to view it and it lag on low performance pc. It can be great when you have a huge budget and want to showcase one of your product. You have listed your product in your main site but you may want to market it in a unique way. (Addidas and Nike do this sometime when they launch some of the products) If I am not wrong, it is created using WebGL Experiments. It is a experiment technology by google chrome so it consume a lot of resource. For the pricing, I am not too sure. It is one of the latest technology and it includes 3D model. If the development price is 5K (USD) and above, I wont feel surprise.
Not so difficult, not muck work to do, but much much much research required, because very very few resources available. Starting from here: http://srchea.com/experimenting-with-web-audio-api-three-js-webgl It currently works on Chrome only. And good luck.
Actually, it works on Firefox as well. I had tried it. It is just lagging on firefox. Lastly, is that your blog?
