That's a very vague question... Depends on the marketing you do, the target audience, how relevant the ads are, and the ad network you're using. Some sites can easily make $4k with just a few hundred, while others may need a few thousand visitors.
Very hard to say but a good ball park figure for an average converting site would be around 15K -20K unique visitors.
Can not say exact figure but more than 20000/day traffic will help you , but it should be targeted traffic.
Wait what? The first poster estimated from a few hundred to a few thousand. How do you go from that to 20k per day?
I'd say between 5k-10k visitors a day should do that, provided your traffic is North American / European. Not sure how much traffic you will need if your traffic is not from those areas.
this depends on what your selling or how your thinking about making money from your site? its not the traffic you send but targeted traffic/visitors that are interested in what your offering i mean if your selling a book on investment banking and you send doctors to your offer how many will buy the product? 0 but if you where to send investment bankers or trainees to your offer youll have alot more chance of sales its not just about traffic but the quality and targeted audience.
Well that totally depends on niche, ad placement, ads, layout... to many factors to give any real estimate. I have a 1mil FB Fanpage with mainly US traffic, that i use to send traffic to LeapViral.com and im in the numbers you are talking about.
There are a lot of factors to traffic and to be honest your question can not be answered this way because we need more infos: 1. the topic of the site 2. the content and the budget you have to invest 3. and so much more Would be great if you can give a little more detail to what you want!
Without selling any products? Impossible. You are either selling your own products, someone else's products, or you are selling your space, which then becomes your product. Personally, I'd rather focus on smaller amounts of targeted traffic I can offer solutions to, than to have untargeted traffic that I just pray clicks a link. Even if your site is targeting a fun niche, think about something that appeals to them and sell to them, don't just pray for clicks.
I don't have anything particular in mind for myself but was wondering about some sites ranked in the Alexa top 500 globally that not only don't sell any products but also seemingly do not advertise. Case in Point www.upworthy.com Also, www.buzzfeed.com - reportedly worth 200 Million in 2013.
I stand corrected about buzzfeed. So I guess my question is strictly about advertising, however from the previous answers I understand that this may be too hard to estimate without having more details. Oh well, just wanted to know if doing something similar was possible at a very small scale in order to have a modest lifestyle business. Thank you all for your input.
My site is getting 1500 visitors a day... mostly US and Europe traffic... And I don't even make $1 dollar a day. My CTR is averaging 0.05%. There must be something wrong. Any advice from the pros?
How much is the item you are selling? What is the commission and profit? What is the market segment? Your question is like 'How long will it take for me to drive to my house?' Without a frame of reference, it can take 2 minutes or 2 years. Same with the traffic.
I agree. You summed it up good. There's so many marketing variables that can make or break your venture. It's all in the way you're able to reach people at their level -- or not.
