    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

Understanding CPM - How much can you get paid w/ 1-2m pageviews daily?

We are exploring other avenues on a company we own to generate extra revenue. Can anyone give me an idea of what Google or any other advertising company would pay you to hose their adds? What do they pay for each 1000 impressions of banner/video adds?

We believe we can get about 1-2 million impressions each day from a single banner, and are curious to know if these advertisers pay enough to make this worth it?

Secondly, do they require impressions to be counted only towards a unique visitor page view, or can a unique visitor view multiple banners/videos and we still get revenue from it?

I have researched these amounts per 1000 impressions that companies will pay:
    Per 1000: $0.50-$1
    (Is this correct?)

Crazy not to put ad's up... yes they display on each impression of your pages to who ever visits - as long as the country of origin is decent. Depends on who you go with as to how much you earn per 1k impressions, if it's media you can display ad's inside the media & you'll earn more. For impressions at least .50 - $1 per 1k. Several factors to consider though, quality of traffic & how many clicks you get & impression type - media tends to pay more.

We have about 30,000 users each day on our site, but we have around 1-2m page views. So would we only get paid on the 30,000 users (30,000 / cpm), or all of the page views instead (2,000,000 / 1000 * $0.02 (or whatever the rate is)). If they pay only on the unique visitors, 30,000, then we would making absolutely nothing.

99% of our traffic is from North America due to the service we provide. This could expand outside of North America if we offer our services free and had a Ad supported version. Our users are K-12 students. We think our advertising would be very affective, and allows us to get the most revenue from CPM campaigns since students need a break from their work and potentially click/watch the ads.

Depends on who you go with, some will only allow one click per visitor per day, so they're not paying for the same viewer/visitor to their site. Some will only pay per impression - unique impression. It all depends on who you go with, try adsense first as they're the ones who will pay the most. But Adsense will pay more than 0.02 per click, they could pay as high as 0.20 - 0.50 per click. But if you're already making coin from the site & by putting ad's up you are put at risk of losing potential customers then that's a risk you'll have to decide on. But what's to lose by putting up ad's? That's a lot of traffic to monetize - crazy not to.

We are planning a "free" version of our software for the schools in North America to use. A lot of school districts are hurting for funds. We rather them use our free version, than anything else. If they don't want to use our free version, they can upgrade to our paid version with no ads.

However, if these ad networks are only paying 1 time for each unique user, then it is not worth it. Instead of paying on pageviews, if they only pay once per user (30,000/day) then it is a waste of time. 30,000 / 1000cpm * $0.50 = $15/day. This isn't worth it what-so-ever, wont even pay for the development costs to do this over a year period. We were hoping to monetize our pageviews (1-2+ million/day), not the unique visitor(s). We feel our audience is premium, considering it is North America K12 students who are the most impressionable when it comes to marketing. Toys/Games/clothes/electronics, all of which are perfect for our audience.
