Their content at slightlyviral.com is highly shared - how do they do that? I have a page with even higher likes and people do not share the posts nearly as much. What am i missing?
Is your question legit or are you just trying to promote your website? Without knowing your content it's hard to say what's wrong with it. In general people will share stuff that they find valuable in some way. The only thing that you can do is to create quality content and maybe ask people to share your post but that's pretty much all you can do.
That's not my site. Mine is very similar, more likes (a lot more), more content, etc, yet less shares. How are they gathering so many clicks?
Yes, ive been doing heavy FB ads (mostly for general likes to the page), but even though engagement is pretty good, they dont 'like' external posts that much. These guys however (slightlyviral) are getting tons of shares on almost everything they post which makes me think theres something else going on that they do that im missing!
Make users log into your posts if they come from Facebook, which creates the app on Facebook, you'll get more likes if you create an app for your site & require a log in, then make your app automatically post to the users wall... for instance if they log in - post the status to their wall along with the URL where they logged in from with the title, image & description... this way when posts are posted to the users wall & someone likes their post/your post on their wall - it will also add a like to your post or a share. Force engagement... that's how app's & games go viral. Once you have that sorted, run an ad' on FB, if there's a good response rate, promote it again - if the response rate is crap, create another campaign.
I use this in my game, I gathered 600 likes, 100 players (or more) 100 posts to walls, 4000 impressions of the post on their walls... for about $30 worth of Facebook ad's - mine's going to be different to yours/anyone elses because I use it in my games functionality here: https://flappyville.com/bullshitman/index.htm - the game sucks to be honest, I'm just learning & wanted to test the functionality before I leap into my proper games. You need several things though, like the Facebook OG's set up, the Facebook app, the SSL certificate... it can be a pain in the ass - but that's what sets the viral functionality apart from the rest, if it takes effort to do - your competitors wont do it.
I've got it so it will post to the users wall when they log in, each time, & when they get a high score. It was a little to aggressive - but it works haha.
thing is i have many thousands of likes but the interaction is low, how will this solve this? isnt your system basically geared to creating just more LIKES?
Well, if I had a better image on the app it would be more effective, the one I have now is a bit plain - unless it's updated, FB uses a cache & when I changed the image to display - it takes time for Facebook to update it, you could have a play button type image - many users click the play button expecting a video to pop up & play - so tricking them works. It wasn't primarily to get likes, it's to spam/I mean promote on the walls - which it does automatically... so it gets seen, which a start to getting traffic. Even the crap game got a lot of likes, for $30 for 600 likes, 4000+ impressions & 100 players/app installs - it was worth the money. I was happy to pay 50cents per app install - the rest of the likes etc. were just a bonus.
Oh... and there's a difference between an app & a like, a like will most likely only appear in their feed on the right hand side of their pages, an app can post on their timeline as if it was from the user themselves, so the reach is much different. You want to be seen, so posting on their wall reaches their friends - posts in just their feed goes mostly unnoticed. The app' can be accessible within Facebook itself, so there's one advantage... I have 2 versions of my site/games (which is easy for me because 1 game is one page - not many), one version is the FB app with SSL & the other is web based without SSL.
If you want real engagement please avoid using tools like addmefast, most of the likes and followers you can get there are dummy accounts. Yes, you can get lots of followers and likes but not real ones. I've tried it...
