May work. But how many of editors would toil
to give 70% to you and keep pennies for buying
coarse bread and butter for themselves?

Also a small correction. You said Google was started
in a "car garbage"! LOL! I don't think it was a typo
    as it was repeated twice.

Before you run the world's nest DMOZ please know the difference
    between garbage and garage. Here:
    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/garbage
    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/garage

And by the way which year are you in and which branch
    of engineering are you studying?

he's got support from newbies, any ways you way, good luck with the project, i don't see any matured members here supporting this project, i wouldn't want to be editor of a free directory, ill do so if its a paid one.

5-15hrs a day for 30 bucks a month is like my wife will slap me 30,000 times.
ill be quite now no more comments on this topic.

    Not for a day

    5-15 hours for a month

I think one can spend 5-15 hours a month as a editor

    Also let me clear it

Revenue sharing is in the ratio of 3:2:1

a $6 inclusion program is shared like this

    3-for me
    2-Editors(who
1-hosting& other expenses related with the maintenance and its not for me

Voted No. Sorry friend. But there is a small number of Good Editors and Ex-Editors doing a No Submission Directory. Their just trying to find sites that are Non Profit. I just happened to bump into that site. :)

say there are a 100 editors, everyone reviews a 100 paid submission a month that would make $60K, you get $30K and every editor gets $200. wake up buddy. and why are you paid by the way? for this stupid idea? :D :D :D

It will not be paid the paud submissions are only to discourage the corruption among editors

Mhmadi you did not understand it in clear way

I was saying free submissions and paid submission

How you can calculate that there would be 100 piad submissions per editor

Since I am the owner I have every right over it

I am again saying that $2 for each instant inclusion will be based on the referral program

The site will personally reviewed by me and not by other editors

I think you have been out here only to create confuse among us

also you did not clearly understand the previous threads

and the thread is getting longer and longer every day

So what will the editors do? do you mean affiliates not editors?
or probably you mean you will review the paid listings while the nice editors will do the other job for you? :D I think the only one confused here is you. Anyways, I look forward to have a look at your directory and best of luck!

The paid listings are reviewed by me inorder to eliminate corruption

They will be paid and also my I have launched yet another directory
    www.bigoole.com

Also I want to know how many would join me as editors?

    As
I cannot managea directory single handedly though I can manage it

Do you mean that starting a directory like the above is a very big achievement?

So you can manage single handedly or not?

Yes I would rate it as a big acheivement because there is ohter directory in the world that is composed onyl of keywords

Even though it is not a big acheivement I would call it is a acheivement

You see that www.bigoole.com is the only keyword directory in the world

That it is the directory of keywords

you can get your site listed under different categories in bigoole.com

now it may less get submissions but surely it will pick up

It would be absolutely awesome to have a dmoz alternative.

A few things would need to be in place before it'd get me behind it:

A "Constitution" guaranteeing transparency, with checks and balances and a guarantee of communication. If a site is rejected, there should be a reason. If a site is removed, there should be a reason. And not just one editor saying so, but some sort of appeal process.

Freewebspace - Why don't you contact everyone who wants to participate with this project. We can get together to discussed your ideas and editors ideas. Then we come up with a "constitution" (as JohnScott said in the above post). I don't clearly understand your idea/rules.

This directory should be owned by everyone participating and not just one person and any revenue from the directory needs to be more balanced.

Anyway I like the idea and would like participate in this project.

Okay that means I am free to discuss here the constitution of the directory

would involve some standarad basic things

I will finishing the the job of creating categories within 4 days and I will again post here

also I am with the idea of displayinh google ads on all the pages just like DP with each editor or refferrer would have their google ads on all the pages

also I am going to do away with instant submission and that means It should be having a free listing for all

Also I am working on displaying Google ads for different members and also a Editors functions

My only problem is that I want to decide on whether I want to have a dedicated server or not

Also I am thinking of creating static html pages since I am afraid that my host servage may

suspend my account if there is too much php load on it

WWWS.org is a good name for the "next DMOZ?. I aim it to be Free, but with ads and will only accept quality websites, whether it be a mom and pop e-store to a big corps and non-profit sites, just so it is not a spammy sites and them Info sites, loan sites, etc.
