    Hi Sam,

These are just suggestions, and for good reason. But breaking the rules isn't going to severely harm the site.

You only want one <h1> tag per page to give Google a signal about what this page is about. In 2014, Google is starting to rank pages for entire topics, rather than keywords. So the <h1> tag is a good way to tell Google that my page is about "blah blah blah". Too many <h1> tags will confuse the bot.

When you create a page, particularly in Wordpress, this is true: you're going to have more than 1 <h1> tag if you add another of your own in the content of the page. Most themes will automatically create an <h1> page title at the top of the page. However when the first <h1> tag coincides with the page <title>, Google will already understand that this is something put in by your CMS (Wordpress in this example).

Again, this is a suggestion. It's perfectly normal to have a page with multiple links to innerpages. I'm guessing you heard this suggestion because they were recommending to 'silo' your site. Learn more here: http://source-wave.com/how-to-build-seo-silo/

Siloing is a way to channel the link juice through out your site. If you have more than one link per page, you're not able to fully control where that link juice is going.

    Hope this helps.

As said those are suggestions, and my suggestion is try using H2, H3 tags for each of your topics and use H1 only as a main heading. The only 1 inner page link is nonsense. Use more than 1 if you want, but make sure they are natural and not link created for a link creation. Try using descriptive long tale anchor texts for your links. And don't make an anchor text keyword oriented if it is nor necessary

I'm afraid you make this simple onpage optimisation to be so difficult.
even because on next month google will change their algorythm again then the rules will changes again
from my opinion, just doing seo way as you know and do it consistently
in next way, you will enjoy passive traffic from search engine

It is perfectly OK to have more than one link on a page that points to another page on your website.

Here's an example of a PR3 page on my website that has 79 links to other pages of the same website — http://www.jimfeeney.org/morebibleteachings.html — and it has consistently been (along with the home page) the highest PR page on my site. And it is the single most popular page out of my ~290 pages in Google search. This page is, essentially, a catalog of the hundreds of other pages of the website. And Google has consistently given it high marks in search, even with all those internal links, which of course are necessary due to the nature of this page. Google is smart enough to realize this.
