I know that this is probably the wrong area to post this in - please be kind with me - I checked for ages and couldn't find the right place for it.... So, here is the thing... I bought a webcam a while ago. Then my old pc died and I have a new one. Can't find the installation cd though. What can I do? Is there somewhere on the web that I can find it? Prob is that I don't even know exactly what the model is.... I hope that someone can help me get this sorted because I want to be able to use it! Help? Anyone?
Do you know the manufacturer? Try looking on their website for drivers. If not, sometimes a PC will auto-detect a driver or use a default one (I think, though I did just switch to a Mac - built in iSight baby). Good luck and make sure you report back.
Yup as drig said just checkout who's the manufacturer then checkout their official site usually all of the manufacturers provide drivers on their sites, let us know if you still need any help.
Thanks Excuse my ignorance, but on the installation cd - is it drivers? I found a driver and am downloading it at the moment. Hope it works!
Yes, most likely (and promotion / help material usually). The driver lets your computer talk to the webcam and vise versa.
Thanks so much guys! Sorry - would have answered earilier, but was having way too much fun! I didn't really get to use it on my other pc 'cause we had a really slow internet connection. Now I just need to make some friends who have cams...lol
