I've had many great ideas and some of them I've actually worked on and created but the thing is, not many people seem to be interested in them. The first one I ever created was funniestmeme.com It's not the best site ever but it was a start. I still blog at shemseddine.com which is like my journal The next of my ideas was urlive.co.uk/live This site is the first one I actually worked on and tried to finish but needed partners to find great videos and add content. Another site that is semi finished is documentary.shemseddine.com which my friend uses every now and again to check out the documentaries I put up but still, need more people. How do you get the people to check out your stuff and be interested in the development of it? At the moment I'm creating a social network which I'm worried will be just another of my projects that doesn't go anywhere.
I think it's better if you focus on one site first until success before jump and jump again to another projects
I think the days of one guy creating a commercially viable social network or similar site are over - these days it takes teams with designers, usability experts, database managers (tuning etc) as well as coders. Sites promoting a business and blogs can still be done alone but they're not normally going to be "big". Be realistic about your goals - don't give up on them.
Yeah, what the other posters before me said. You might have to commit to one idea at a time, and research your market. If you can find a way to target the people who would be interested in your content, that will do you a world of good.
Wow and you're doing everything on your own? Yea just focus on the most promising one, find the right people to help you to manage and then move on to the next.
KW lead the traffic to the interesting blogs/sites. Firstly, you must be sure that all the blogs of yours contain the contents as many as for diving traffic. After that, check and select your blog which has traffic more than the another to promote...
You are beginning to learn an importnat business lesson: ideas are a dime a dozen. That is, all ideas are virtually worthless withouth the skills and ability to effectively implement the idea. A good start would be to begin to categorize your ideas by the potential opportunity and the requirements to do it right. Then pick the best opportunity with the most feasible requirements and find interested partners, investors, etc., that you will need to get it done. Once you have those ducks in a row, you can then begin the project.
At some point, you also need to generate publicity to drive traffic to your sites. Have you considered guest posting and advertising?
It is great that you are creating all the sites on you own. I think you should focus on 1 site at one go then jump into other.
If one of your sites ever gets an traction and starts to bring in a lot of traffic and some money you could outsource some of the tasks or get a VA. This will help to really ramp up what you're able to accomplish in one day. Much better than trying to do everything yourself.
anyway, it is possible to focus on multiple projects at the same time. It's like investing on a multifocused portfolio. This way, if something goes wrong, you don't risk to lose your entire investment. At the same time, you can choose the best implemented ideas to further development, and leave the worst ideas.
Stick with something simple you feel passionate about at first. A blog and an opt in form should do the trick.
I think you need to jot down all the ideas you have and then execute them one by one like a task list. You can consider LinkedIn for connecting with like minded people, and you will come in contact with great professionals who can help you to realize your ideas.
absolutely!! networking is a lot important. but you'll meet professionals willing to help you and professionals that will mislead you. You have to understand what's a good explanation and what's a useless explanation. but the same is for websites, guides, books. always use your mind.
